This companion guide features primarily character profiles at this time, but may include other bonus materials as I release them! It is intended to supplement readers curious to learn more about the main characters or the world, and is not required reading. Spoilers will be clearly marked.
4/10/2026 - Character Profiles contain spoilers up to Episode 2/Chapter 16-ish of AQUILA.
Character profiles are creatively presented as a tarot card spread for each character. Descriptions of the cards are primarily derived from "The Ultimate Guide to Tarot Card Meanings" by Brigit Esselmont, but supplemented with my own personal vibes, and special emphasis played to the components of each card that drew me to it for each character.
The tarot card spread I have chosen to use is composed of four cards:
- The Inner Self - The true core of a character that forms the foundations of their identity.
- The Outer Mask - The self they present to the world. It is still a 'true self', but shaped by the person they might strive to be or present to the world around them.
- Struggle - Their greatest challenges, not necessarily their weaknesses.
- Growth - The pathway to growth.
While these tarot card profiles will not necessarily spoil anything about the story, they may provide you with insight into how the characters think and feel that goes above and beyond what our MC has necessarily discerned about her companions.
