Chapter 1

Frief

One day, a thief steals gold from a house and runs away. The police start chasing him, shouting, “Hey stop! If we catch you, you're finished! Stop, you thief!” and continue running behind him.

That thief’s name is Raja.

Suddenly, thunder and lightning strike, and it starts raining heavily. Raja runs, thinking he should hide somewhere.

At that moment, he sees a woman. She is a beggar, and she is pregnant. Seeing her reminds him of his wife, Sumathi, who is also pregnant. He feels the urge to help her.

He looks around nervously for an auto, but before he can do anything, the woman goes into labor and delivers a baby boy. Raja tries to go near her to tell her about the baby—but sadly, she dies.

Raja is confused about what to do. Should he leave the baby or take him? While he is still thinking, the police arrive. So he quickly takes the baby and runs to his house.

When he reaches home, he tells everything to his wife Sumathi—about the beggar woman, her delivery, and her death. Sumathi listens and decides to accept the baby.

Soon, Sumathi becomes very attached to the baby, just like a real mother.

1 WEEK LATER

Sumathi goes into labor and gives birth to a baby boy.

Raja looks at his newborn son and starts crying. Seeing this, Sumathi asks what happened.

Raja says, “Look at my situation. My name is Raja, but my life is that of a thief. Everything is because of my father’s mistakes. Now I have a child. I should take care of you and both our children properly, right?”

Sumathi comforts him and says, “You are stealing because your father didn’t educate you. No one gave you a job. That’s why you're doing this. We don’t have money to start a business either. What else can we do? Don’t worry. Once the children grow a little, I will go to work. Don’t cry, Raja.”

NAMING CEREMONY

After a few days, they name the babies.

The beggar woman’s baby is named Varun, and their own baby is named Arun. That day, they are very happy.

As time passes, Varun and Arun grow up together like real brothers.

AFTER SOME YEARS

Varun and Arun are admitted to school.

Initially, Arun behaves well. But after some time, he starts stealing things like pencils and sharpeners from his classmates.

His mother Sumathi warns him, “Arun, don’t do things like this. It’s wrong. Go to school, study well. You don’t need all this.”

Arun agrees and stays quiet for a while.

But later, he starts stealing again. This time, he tries to involve Varun.

He tells Varun, “Come, let’s steal together.”

Varun refuses, saying, “No, this is wrong. I won’t do it.”

But Arun insists, and eventually both of them start stealing together.

They begin with small things. The school principal warns them, saying, “Don’t do such things again. This is your first and last warning.”

But Arun and Varun do not change. They continue stealing.

The principal keeps giving warnings and punishments, and also informs their parents repeatedly.

Bloodlines

Ku_Rolet: The novel was good, and I really enjoyed reading it. I love the leads and their bond, but I have one question that confused me. How could Tristan have been dreaming about his mate since he was a child if Omara was already mated to someone else before him? If Kyle had accepted Omara, would Tristan ne...
