~

As midnight strikes, she strikes as well

Her gown, her hair, her empty shell

Her skin, so pale, her body weak

"Power" is it that she seeks

The moonlight pours down from above

Time to find someone to "love"

A man appeared in front of her

His arm stretched out, he shows his care

Blissfully she grabs his hand

Feeling lighter and less bland

He takes a bow, gives her a smile

The moment lingers for a while

She pulls him closer, hugs him tight

An embrace so warm and bright

So tender, yet so suffocating

Like she'd forever keep him waiting

Letting go of the embrace,

The woman sighs, then holds his face

With a reassuring gaze

Though it’s just a trap, a cage

Like a bug on a summer day,

She’s silently targeting her prey

Driven by fear, ego and shame

Although she knows she’s the one here to blame

Despite all the pain the two still danced their dance

Her, leading on, him, following in a trance

He stared at her like she was made of gold

Not even minding her heart that was cold

I can save her, I know it; I am the one

He swore with his help her soul can see the sun

He kept on pouring his love from his cup,

But hers, full of holes, made every drop

Spill to the ground, and thus, day by day

She witnessed his efforts wasting away

His smile lost its warmth, his eyes lost its spark

His voice going quiet; his heart has gone dark

With a thump the man drops to the floor

The woman just gasped, and then right before

She stepped over him, like roadkill on the street

Gave him one last peck on the cheek

And then, out of nowhere,

The woman just disappears

No sorry, no thank you

She was never even here

She dusts off her dress, fixes her hair

Washing off every last bit of his care

This is fine. Cause it’s not real.

No hard feelings for those that don't feel...
