Summary

Ben Carter thought losing his wife was the hardest thing he would ever endure. He was wrong. Two years after Jayna walked away from their marriage, Ben is still drowning in guilt, and unanswered questions. What he doesn’t know is that Jayna left carrying a secret she believed would destroy everything he had worked for—a baby he never wanted… or so she thought. Now, across an ocean and fighting for the life of the little girl he never knew existed, Jayna has run out of time. Ameerah is sick. Desperately sick. And the only chance their daughter has lies in Houston, Texas—the very place Jayna fled in order to protect Ben’s future. Now Ben and Jayna must navigate the grief, guilt, and lingering wounds left behind by two years of separation as they fight not only for Ameerah’s life, but for the future they once dreamed of together. As Ben discovers the daughter who already knows him from photographs and bedtime stories, he finds himself falling in love with fatherhood almost as fiercely as he once fell in love with Jayna. And Jayna must come to terms with the truth she’s avoided for years—that protecting the people she loves has cost them all more than she ever imagined. Set between Antigua and Houston, Return to Me is an emotional Christian romance about second chances, family, faith, forgiveness, and the kind of love that survives even the deepest wounds.

Authors note

This story was originally written in a time before social media and constant digital connection became part of everyday life. Some elements reflect that reality, where distance was easier to create—and silence harder to bridge.

It also contains themes of childhood illness, cancer, and medical treatment. While this story is ultimately one of hope, faith, healing, and restored love, some scenes may be emotionally difficult for sensitive readers.

At its heart, however, Return to Me is a story about grace—about family, forgiveness, and finding your way back to the people you love.
