Chapter 1 - The First Day of 8A
The corridor of Block B was louder than ever on the first day of 8th grade.
Students rushed around excitedly, calling their friends after the long holidays while teachers tried to control the noise from a distance. Some looked completely different after vacation, while others acted exactly the same.
“Please tell me we don’t have double maths today,” Stella groaned dramatically as she walked beside Stacy and Luna.
“You complain before even entering class,” Luna laughed softly.
Behind them, July was busy talking with Mariam about the class president duties for the new term.
Of course Mariam had become class president again.
Nobody was surprised.
The four girls finally entered Class 8A.
The classroom was already chaotic.
Vincent stood near the back benches laughing while Andrew threw a paper ball across the room. Austin sat beside them trying hard not to get involved.
“Andrew, if Ma’am catches you on the first day itself, don’t drag us with you,” Austin warned.
Andrew only grinned.
At the front row, Alex was already opening his science textbook while Chriss discussed marks with him seriously like exams were tomorrow.
“Bro, school started ten minutes ago,” Andrew called out. “Relax.”
Alex didn’t even look up.
“Some people actually care about their future.”
The class laughed.
Stacy sat beside Luna and sighed quietly. Some things never changed.
Especially Andrew.
He was always loud, careless, and surrounded by trouble because of Vincent and Austin. And somehow, he always found ways to annoy her.
“Topper squad has arrived,” Vincent joked while looking toward Stacy’s group.
Andrew smirked slightly.
“Dangerous people.”
Stacy rolled her eyes immediately.
“Better than behaving like kindergarten kids.”
Austin laughed under his breath while Vincent pretended to look offended.
But when Stella walked past their benches, Vincent’s expression changed completely.
“You can sit here if you want,” he said quickly, moving his bag away from the empty seat near him.
Stella blinked in surprise.
“And sit beside chaos? No thanks.”
“Wow,” Vincent placed a hand on his chest dramatically. “That hurt.”
But unlike with others, his voice was softer around her.
Andrew noticed it instantly.
“You become so nice around Stella,” he whispered.
“Shut up,” Vincent muttered immediately.
Stella hid a small smile before sitting with Stacy and Luna.
Near the windows, Mariam entered the classroom confidently as everyone greeted her.
“Morning, President!”
She smiled proudly before taking her seat.
Andrew glanced at her for a moment longer than usual.
July noticed.
And suddenly, her chest felt strangely tight.
At the same time, Stacy looked toward Andrew accidentally.
Unfortunately, he looked back too.
Both frowned immediately and looked away.
The first bell rang loudly across the corridor.
And just like that, 8A’s story began.
