"Poor Claire Grey. Not only is she the unloved daughter of a cold billionaire father. She is shipped off to Graventhrone Institute, a secretive boarding school for wealthy “problem” teens. Claire quickly discovers the fortress-like academy is filled with cruel authority figures, (Mrs. Harth was my personal favorite) mixed-gender dorms, and arrogant hypersexual students. Especially Ezra, a tattooed bad-boy roommate she instantly despises despite inner stirrings within that suggest she may feel some unwanted attraction towards him. Whew! Author Darcy Kain does not hold back on the horrors of or the psychological scars it creates in the protagonist, Claire. I found myself cringing several times, yet unable to put my iPhone down and stop reading. The pacing is fast and binge-friendly. Nearly every scene ends with a hook that makes you want to keep turning the pages. Warning, this is not a novel for the faint-hearted. But for those who can handle it, you'll be rewarded with a dark tale about an admirably, strong, unbreakable spirit. "
