"The Boy Behind Silent Bruises"

The Silent Bruises 💔

Leo never learned how to cry out loud—not because he was strong, but because in his world, crying never brought comfort, only consequences. Pain became something routine for him, not a moment, not an event, but a constant state of living that slowly settled into his bones as if it had always belonged there. His home was not a place of safety; it was a place where silence felt safer than words, and stillness felt safer than breathing too loudly. Emotions were treated like flaws, and flaws were punished without patience or understanding. He grew up learning the language of fear before he ever learned the language of kindness. Every small mistake—sometimes even things he didn’t understand—became a reason for anger to rise in the air like a storm that never truly passed. The sound of footsteps could change his heartbeat. A sudden tone in a voice could freeze his body. He became someone who survived by shrinking himself, by making himself smaller, quieter, less noticeable, as if disappearing emotionally could protect him physically.

But even invisibility didn’t always save him.

There were moments when punishment crossed into something far heavier than discipline—moments that left marks not just on his body, but deep inside where no one could see. One day, a mistake he never fully understood led to something that changed him permanently. The pain wasn’t just sharp; it was breaking, spreading instantly through him like something had snapped inside his world. He collapsed, unable to even process what had happened, his breath uneven, his body shaking as he tried to understand why it hurt so much just to exist in that moment. He didn’t cry for help loudly—not because he didn’t need it, but because somewhere along the way, he had learned that calling for help was pointless. He lay there waiting, hoping—just for a second—that someone might notice, that someone might care enough to stop the world from continuing as if nothing had happened. But no one came in the way he needed. Instead, he was met with blame, with words that made him feel like even his pain was his fault, as if suffering itself was something he had chosen.

Another time, everything became too much for his small, exhausted heart to carry. The weight of fear, confusion, and constant emotional pressure built up until his body simply gave in, and he collapsed into unconsciousness. When he woke up, there was no warmth waiting for him, no relief, no gentle voice asking if he was okay. Just the same cold silence, the same environment that treated his suffering like background noise. It was as if even his absence didn’t matter.

Slowly, without realizing it, Leo stopped expecting anything from anyone. Hope didn’t leave him loudly—it faded quietly, like a light dimming in a room no one noticed was getting darker. He stopped believing that kindness was something meant for him. He stopped thinking he deserved care, attention, or even basic understanding. Instead, he began turning everything inward, blaming himself for things he didn’t cause, questioning his worth for things he couldn’t control. His mind became a place he could never escape from, constantly replaying moments, words, reactions—searching endlessly for what he did wrong. Overthinking wasn’t just a habit anymore; it became his only form of conversation, his only companion in a life where no one truly listened.

And yet, in all that silence, Leo didn’t break loudly.

He broke quietly.

Piece by piece.

Until he became someone who no longer expected love…

(He loved in silence, cried in mind,

A broken soul too soft, too kind… 🖤)

Only survival.

وہ ہنستا رہا مگر ٹوٹتا رہا اندر سے،

خاموشی میں چھپاتا رہا ہر درد کو دل کے اندر سے… 🖤

💔 Until an incident happens .....

Obsidian: He's hilarious. Like, actually. I loved it. You're writing style is great, although you could do with a few less murmurs and mutters. I know it sounds critical, but I have the same problem and I hate it. Overall, it was one of the best stories I've read on here so far. I liked it better than those M...
