My Great-grandmother Dinka and the Fairies

My great-grandmother Dinka always went to the hills with a friend to gather wood, because they had to. They saw three girls sitting there, braiding their hair and singing. The fairies told them: "Come to us and sing."

My great-grandmother Dinka saw that one fairy had a leg like a donkey. The other fairy was normal, but she realized Dinka saw the leg. She told them: "Don't tell anyone. You will always have your wood chopped and you will live to be 100 years old."

They went home. The next day when they returned, they saw the wood already chopped and stacked. After a few days, the friend couldn't keep the secret, she told someone and she died.

My great-grandmother Dinka lived for 100 years. She had a grip in her hand as strong as a man's. Only on her deathbed did she finally tell what she had seen.
