"I’m really enjoying this story so far. What I like most is how psychologically layered both Roan and Amara feel. Amara’s trauma doesn’t just disappear because Roan treats her well, it affects how she reacts to closeness, how quickly she gets scared, how often she apologizes, and how hard it is for her to trust even when part of her wants to. That makes her feel very real to me. I also like that Roan isn’t written as some perfect guy who magically fixes everything. He has his own baggage, his own triggers, and his own reasons for keeping people at a distance. So their relationship has this constant push and pull where both of them clearly want to get closer, but neither really knows how to do that without getting scared and pulling back again. Their connection builds through small things, testing boundaries, little touches, conversations, giving each other space, then slowly choosing to come closer again. That makes the emotional moments hit much harder because the trust actually feels earned. I’m very invested in both of them and really curious to see how far they’ll let each other in."
Halfway Through and I Absolutely Cannot Put This Down!
