"Note: I'm still reading this & my previous review appears to have been wiped when my page failed. So I'm writing it again. I live for apocalypse fiction with strong female leads. And this story delivers. The author has a unique voice and is skilled in cycling through moments of rest & humour before destroying you utterly with a brutal cudgel, (her pen), that she keeps tucked behind her back. And when she hits you-it hurts in the best way possible. The characters are rich and reveal themselves naturally. I refuse to read the 2nd book until I've finished the first! (I know it's gonna rock, too.)"
