I push through. Close the door. The sound of my heels echoes — dull thumps on wood. Lights flicker. I head to the office. A moving shadow catches my eye. 'Hello!' God! I hope no one answers. A rumble in the airducts startles me. I turn and pick up the pace. 'Hold it together, James.' I swallow hard, my throat as dry as cotton. Reaching for the door handle, I turn it and push. Lights out.
