Summary

Evangaline Bailey has an average life in a mediocre school with mediocre grades, but what happens when her family decides to up and leave and move to Boston for her brothers hockey team? Cassian DeNatelo is the captain of Boston's AAA 20U Hockey team, and fits the description perfectly. He's sworn off relationships, yet when the noobies' sister comes running into practice in pink Hello Kitty pajama pants and things that are supposed to be slippers but look more like toxic fur balls on her, tripping over her own feet on the ice... that swear he made is flying right out the window.

Prologue

I hate school.

If I had to choose between drowning in a pool and going to school for 7 goddamn hours a day, the answer is pretty simple. And moving to a new school halfway through the year isn't any better whatsoever. My older brother is on a very committed AAA Hockey team, and the offer he got from a team in Boston, MA, was apparently too tempting to pass up. So my parents made us leave our lives in Florida to move here. In a cliché town that is seen in those shows where the main characters are the bitchiest people in the world. And if that's my impression of just the town, I can only imagine the people in the high school.

Jesus.

It might be safer for me to just drop out at this point. I mean, it's not like I wasn't popular at my old school... but it's not like I was either. I was known, sure, but I kept to myself if anything. My friends were the social butterflies who got us places. I had my two close-knit friends, Evie and Jayden. Jayden was gay, and being gay meant every single basic bitch wanted to be his 'bff', so he automatically just us into everything. Evie, on the other hand, was just plain perfection; she was outgoing and smart, not to mention drop-dead gorgeous. Both of my friends were good-looking, sure. Jayden had a sun-kissed complexion with a bleached buzz, diamond studs, and was tall and fit, making him look very much like a straight, horny man. Evie was short and thin; she was very pale due to her Asian roots, with long black hair and brown, almost black, eyes.

And without them with me, I'm lost, I can't talk to people for shit, let alone make friends. My brother told me I could stay with him and the hockey team, but Fuck no. I would rather die than stay around those rich and entitled assholes.

Hockey boys always gave me the ick, sure, they can be hot as hell with the jerseys and sweaty hair, and when they effortlessly glide across the ice. But they are no-no's. I've seen it in my brother; they are the biggest man hoes I've seen, and think they can get away with murder because of the status they hold.

I would never find interest or EVER fall for a hockey boy.

Hester: Very good, was short too the point , not lingering on the abuse, pity you didn’t let him step in earlier knowing the abuse was happening, but this is almost real for some women who have gone through it, just wish they could all have a princess at te end of thete tunnel
