THE RING OF ABERSIA

Reimagined Chapter 1 (Final Draft)

The King of Abersia & Virudya’s Fall

It was a cloudy day, the lights felt weak in front of the darkness.

Axel while playing in his grandfather’s room, remembered how his grandfather once told him a story about a king and his kingdom.

“Grandpa, tell me that story again.” Alex said in a soft voice.

The old man paused. His hands trembled slightly, not with age, but with memory.

“You should have forgotten it by now,” he said quietly.

“I can’t,” Axel Larson replied (with innocent smile).

The room fell silent.

Then, with a slow breath, the old man began.

Long before maps were drawn and histories were written, there existed a city called Abersia.

It was said to lie at the center of the world, though no one could ever reach it without invitation.

Abersia was not just beautiful, it was perfect.

Crops never failed. Storms never struck. People never starved.

The kingdom which had everything.

And all of it… came from a single object.

The Ring… The Ring of Abersia.

The king who ruled Abersia was feared and admired in equal measure, not for his armies, but for the ring he wore.

The ring could grant wishes.

But only ten.

And by the time the story was told, it is said that only four remained.

Far beyond Abersia, a kingdom named Virudya had been watching.

While Abersia prospered, Virudya withered.

Its rivers dried. Its lands turned barren. Its people suffered.

And so, with their last breath, they came for the ring.

The attack was swift.

By the time the king was informed, Virudya’s army had already reached the outer city.

Yet the king did not panic.

He laughed.

“Let them come,” he said. “The ring has never failed me.”

Inside the castle, deep within a locked chamber, the ring waited.

But the moment the king reached for it,

A cold breeze hits & a voice stopped him.

“This will be your last wish.”

The king turned.

A man stood behind him.

No armor. No weapon.

Just eyes that did not feel human.

His face was unclear, as if the darkness itself refused to reveal him.

“Your kingdom was never meant to rise, and you will correct this.” the man said.

And then he vanished.

For the first time in his life, the king hesitated.

But outside, his city was burning.

So he did what he had always done.

He trusted the ring.

He placed it on his finger.

“Save Abersia,” he whispered.

The Ring & The World answered.

But not the way he expected.

The ground began to tremble.

The sky darkened.

And from beneath the city, Water rose.

Not from rivers. Not from rain.

But from the earth itself.

In minutes, streets vanished.

In moments, towers fell.

Screams were swallowed by the ocean that should not exist.

Virudya’s army. The king. The castle.

Everything was dragged into the depths.

And as the king drowned…

The ring slipped from his hand.

And disappeared into the darkness of the abyss.

“People say it still exists,” the old man finished.

“At the deepest point of the ocean.

Waiting.”

“What happened next, Grandpa?” Alex innocently asks.

“Some stories don’t end Axel, maybe you’re the one living it & deciding what happens next.”
