"This story is dedicated to the Mental Health Awareness Month of May. But what makes it unique is neither the subject nor the message. It's the treatment of the subject. A slow-burn narrative, only 2 characters, a sustained atmosphere of deep dread and relentless foreboding that permeates every scene and penetrates deep into your skin is what separates HOURGLASS from similar tales written on this topic. Each of the 5 chapters immerses the reader in slow, undulating waves of tension, making them feel unsettled instead of entertained. That is how this story fulfills its purpose. Because this is a story of purpose. Rachelle is not a figment of imagination. She is a representative of each one of us---prisoners of our own routine and victims of our own obsessions---except that she has gone over the edge. Lucky for her, she manages to bounce back. Which means, there's still hope left. And that's the cherry on top.👍 "

"First I am no stranger to this author's work and I must say what an empowering story she has created with such huge amounts of depth. 💜 A story that can help so many out there. 💜 I really felt the character in this story and the visualisation when reading. 💜 This was heartbreaking but shows a true mental health awareness story which is very important. 💜 Also this short story piece shows huge amounts of knowledge as well for maybe others out there who do not struggle with mental health but would like to understand and learn perhaps. 💜 I really loved the quotes as well at the start of each chapter I would like to add very powerful. 💜 I highly reccomend to all writers and readers out there to read. 💜"
