Chapter 2

Morning arrived quietly.

Soft sunlight slipped through the curtains and rested gently on Aarya’s face. She slowly opened her eyes, adjusting to the unfamiliar room.

For a moment, she forgot everything.

Then reality returned.

The village. The house. The silence.

Aarya sat up and looked around. It still didn’t feel like home… but it didn’t feel completely strange anymore either.

She walked to the window.

The sunflower field was glowing under the morning sun—bright, alive, and somehow comforting.small smile appeared on her face.

After getting ready, Aarya stepped outside. The air was fresh, and the village had started waking up. People walked slowly, talking to each other, children laughed in the distance.

A Everything felt simple.

And different.

Later, she reached her new school.

The noise of students, the sound of chatter—it all felt overwhelming. Aarya hesitated at the classroom door before quietly stepping inside.

She chose the last bench.

Safe. Invisible.

“Hey, are you new?”

Aarya looked up.

A girl with bright eyes and an easy smile stood beside her.

“I’m Meera,” she said warmly. “You look lost.”

Aarya gave a small nod. “Aarya.”

“Don’t worry,” Meera laughed softly. “You’ll get used to this place.”

For the first time since she arrived, Aarya felt a little less alone.

The class began, but her thoughts kept drifting.

Back to the field.

Back to that strange feeling.

After school, without thinking much, Aarya walked in the same direction again.

Toward the sunflowers.

The field welcomed her with the same quiet warmth. The flowers swayed gently, all facing the sun, just like before.

Aarya stepped in slowly.

The world outside faded.

The noise. The people. The confusion.

Everything disappeared.

She closed her eyes.

The wind brushed past her, soft and calm.

And then—

A voice.Faint.

Almost like a whisper.

“Aarya…”

Her eyes snapped open.

She looked around quickly.

No one was there.

Just the sunflowers.

Moving gently.Watching silently.

Aarya’s heart started beating faster.

“Did I just imagine that?” she whispered.

But deep inside…

She knew she hadn’t.
