Chapter 1
Anya is a girl who lives in Coorg. She comes from a middle-class family. She met a guy named Alex, and a few months later, she met another guy named Joe.
I am Anya, and I am 24 years old. For a long time, I didn't use any social media apps, but one day, a friend recommended them to me, so I joined. First, I met a guy named Tom. He was very bold and didn't talk much, but we exchanged information and grew close, moving from strangers to friends.
After a few months, I met Alex. He was very respectful, and I was quite impressed by the way he texted me. However, when I told Tom about him, Tom warned me that people often create fake accounts to blackmail others. Following his advice, I immediately blocked Alex. Tom and I continued sharing our thoughts and talking to each other.
A month later, I learned how to unblock accounts and decided to unblock Alex.

I rationalized it, thinking he just valued his privacy.
One day, I showed his profile to my friend, ardhya. She told me plainly that he was a fake person and that I shouldn't get addicted to him. I ignored her advice. By then, I was truly addicted; I started to lose myself. I would stay up until midnight waiting for his messages as if I were someone special to him. I began to develop feelings of love. Then, one day, he told me, "I like someone. We are very close, but I don't know if she will accept my proposal."
He then asked me how he should propose to his bestie. I was completely heartbroken the moment he said that, but I still gave him some ideas. I told him, "You can't have her as both a bestie and a lover. If she rejects you, just say 'I wanted to confess my love.'"
The next day, I told my close friend, Ardhya, what happened. She warned me, "It was you all along; he just wanted to play a trick on you. Be careful." I ignored her advice. That evening, he proposed to me, and I was absolutely shocked by that.....
