Chapter 1 It shouldn't have begun
She didn't want to, but it still happened.
The hospital room A4 was dim; only one light was turned on. Inside, Etsuko, a mental PTSD patient, was sleeping. Her chest rose and fell, each beat slow. There was only silence in the room, except the faint sound of her breathing.
Airi, a senior nurse assigned to Etsuko, entered the room. She was a calm and kind woman. She came to her and gently shook her shoulder to wake her up.
“Etsuko, wake up, you need to go to school.”
Etsuko stared, faint sounds escaping her lips. She turned to her left side as if denying waking up.
Airi called her a little firmer this time, sliding her hair back from slipping into her mouth. But it exposed her right eye. She always covered it. No one else dared to know why.
Etsuko stared and opened her eyes before she could stop herself. They were locked on Airi. Her eyes—she began shaking. She tried to move, but some invisible force kept stopping her.
Scenes flashed in front of her eyes. Airi with a man, laughing, talking, then a date with a boy, boy eyes reflecting something evil. Then a car, Airi shouting in a dark room.
She shouted, “No!!!”
The heart rate machine beside the bed went wild. She sat up, breathing widely, her eyes widened.
Airi immediately rubbed her hand on Etsuko's back, trying to calm her. Other nurses came after hearing Etsuko's scream. They thought it was just another episode, but they didn't know it was far beyond just any episode.
Something had begun
