Very special

"What Gary Kuyper has written here is something very special. this is a writer in the zone; his voice is assured and he walks the tightrope of literary horror without slipping once. His style reminds me of Harper Lee and J. D. Salinger - I am not joking. The characterisation of Nan is spot on and I only wish Gary would write more fiction of the historical kind, preferably around the American deep south, for which he seems to have particular empathy and insight. Read this or lose out."
