La bañera es una novela sobre el silencio familiar, la culpa del que sobrevive y la ternura que intenta sobrevivir incluso cuando el perdón no se ha concedido. Es, sobre todo, el trauma de la infancia del narrador, que por un instante desea abrazar a su hermano y olvidar por completo lo que pasó.
La última vez que lo vi tenía sus audífonos de cable adornados con flores rosas.
Siempre estaba con audífonos; supongo que era su manera de sobrellevar el rechazo que vivía de mamá.
En ocasiones, sus ojos grises son lo único que recuerdo de él. Mamá suele susurrar: “Lo siento, Rain. Mami lo siente, no quise ahogarte". Repite eso cada noche desde que te has ido. Supongo que en ocasiones no hay manera de superar lo que hizo en nuestra infancia.
