"The Confession That Never Happened"

The story begins on a train.

Krishna Sehgal, a girl from a rich and well-respected family, had been living abroad with her entire family for years. She had just completed her studies and was finally on her way back to India for her holidays.

She was going to visit her father’s close friend’s house— a place that had always felt like a second home to her.

She used to visit them every year without fail. But for the past two years, she hadn’t been able to come. And maybe that was why this visit felt different… special.

Krishna wasn’t just a guest in that house. She was loved—deeply. Every member of that family adored her, especially because they had seen her grow up since childhood.

Sitting by the window of the train, watching the scenery pass by, Krishna smiled softly to herself.

“Yes… this is the time. I’ll tell him everything this time.”

Radheya.

The son of her father’s closest friend…

and the one who had unknowingly lived in her heart for more than seven years.

She took a deep breath, her heart racing.

“No more hiding. No more waiting.”

After a long journey—first a flight, then this train ride—she was exhausted. But the thought of finally seeing him again filled her with a strange energy.

As the train stopped, she stepped down, feeling the familiar Indian air brush against her skin. She closed her eyes for a moment and smiled.

It felt like home.

And then…

She saw him.

Radheya.

Standing a little distance away.

Her eyes lit up instantly.

“He came to pick me up?” she thought, surprised.

“How is that even possible? I was going to surprise him… Oh God, this has to be Dad. He must have told him!”

Smiling to herself, she started walking towards him.

But as she got closer…

Her steps slowed down.

Radheya wasn’t alone.

He was talking to someone.

A girl.

They were standing close… laughing… smiling like they shared something more than just a conversation.

Krishna froze there.

Her smile disappeared. Her dreams, which she had carefully held onto for years, shattered silently in that moment.

She didn’t know who the girl was.

Before she could even process anything—

Radheya noticed her.

And in an instant, his face lit up with pure happiness.

“Hey! You’re here?” he said excitedly, walking quickly towards her.

Before she could react, he pulled her into a warm hug.

Krishna stood still.

No emotions. No reaction.

It was only after a moment that she came back to her senses.

Her eyes were already filled with tears… but she held them back.

Not now.

Not here.

Radheya pulled back slightly and looked at her.

“Hey, what happened? You look so exhausted. Was the journey too tiring today?” he asked, concern clearly visible in his eyes.

Krishna forced a small smile.

“Ah… nothing. I’m just exhausted, I guess. I don’t know why…”

Just then—

The girl walked towards them.

Krishna’s eyes shifted to her instantly, a flicker of anger and confusion passing through her expression.

The girl looked at Krishna and smiled.

“Oh… so this is the girl you were talking about?”

Radheya smiled casually.

“Yes… she is.”

Krishna frowned slightly.

How does she know about me…?
