Part1:[The awakening the heir]
Chapter 1The Cave of Eternal Voices
Long before human kingdoms ruled the surface of the earth, another civilization flourished beneath the endless ocean.
Hidden deep within the sea existed magnificent underwater kingdoms built by merfolk—half-human, half-fish beings who mastered the currents and thrived among coral palaces, glowing reefs, and ancient ruins forgotten by time.
Among one of these kingdoms lived two brothers.
Markus and Stefan.
Though born into the same family, the two were completely different.
Stefan was ambitious and prideful. He dreamed of becoming a powerful warrior admired throughout the kingdom. Markus, however, was calm and thoughtful. While others chased glory and recognition, he spent his days wandering through reefs and ancient trenches, fascinated by the mysteries hidden beneath the sea.
Ever since childhood, Markus had sensed something strange within the ocean.
A hidden energy.
An invisible force flowing through the currents.
Sometimes, while meditating near the cliffs of the deep sea, he could feel the water moving unnaturally around him, almost as if the ocean itself were alive and whispering to him.
But whenever he spoke about it, the villagers laughed.
“Spiritual energy?” they mocked. “You’ve been listening to too many legends.”
Even Stefan dismissed his ideas.
Yet Markus never stopped believing.
Deep in his heart, he knew the ocean was hiding something ancient.
Something forgotten.
One day, while wandering near the outer reefs, Markus noticed hundreds of crabs crawling together across the ocean floor as if guided by an unseen force.
Curious, he followed them.
The deeper he swam, the darker the ocean became. Sunlight slowly disappeared behind him, replaced by a faint golden glow illuminating the depths ahead.
Then he saw it.
A hidden cave concealed behind towering stone pillars.
Golden light poured from within the cavern like flowing fire.
Markus hesitated.
Every instinct warned him to turn back.
But curiosity pushed him forward.
Slowly, he entered the cave.
The moment he crossed the entrance—
BOOM!
A violent surge of energy exploded through his mind.
The ocean vanished.
Markus suddenly found himself standing within an endless void filled with floating golden runes and ancient symbols. Countless whispers echoed through the darkness like voices from another era.
Then a figure appeared before him.
An elderly man dressed in ancient robes stood silently in the void, his body translucent like a spirit. His eyes carried endless wisdom… and sorrow.
The old man stared at Markus for several moments.
Then he smiled.
“At last,” he whispered softly. “After centuries… someone worthy has arrived.”
Markus stepped back cautiously.
“Who are you?”
The spirit bowed slightly.
“I am the final minister of the ancient kingdom of Ahioul… guardian of the Seal of Heaven.”
The floating runes glowed brighter at those words.
“The Seal of Heaven?” Markus repeated.
The minister nodded slowly.
“The greatest cultivation scripture ever created.”
Suddenly, visions appeared around them.
Ancient underwater empires.
Golden palaces.
Wars tearing through entire oceans.
And above them all floated a radiant golden scripture.
“Long ago,” the minister said quietly, “powerful cultivators existed who could manipulate spiritual energy itself. They commanded the seas, controlled the heavens, and transcended ordinary life.”
His expression darkened.
“But greed corrupted them.”
The visions shifted violently into bloodshed and destruction.
“Kingdoms slaughtered one another to possess the Seal of Heaven. Entire civilizations vanished beneath endless war.”
Markus stared silently at the horrifying scenes.
“If this power caused so much suffering…” he said quietly, “then why preserve it at all?”
The minister’s eyes sharpened.
“Because darkness still exists.”
The void trembled faintly.
“There are forces far older and far more terrifying than war between kingdoms.”
His voice lowered.
“The Seal of Heaven was not created to conquer the world.”
“It was created to protect it.”
A chill ran through Markus’s soul.
The minister slowly raised his hand. A glowing golden sphere appeared above his palm.
“When our kingdom fell, I sealed the Seal of Heaven into four fragments and hid them across the ocean.”
His gaze locked onto Markus.
“And now… the abyss awakens once more.”
The surrounding darkness suddenly shook violently.
Far within the void, Markus thought he saw enormous crimson eyes opening in the darkness.
“The world will soon face destruction again,” the minister whispered. “Unless someone worthy inherits the Seal of Heaven.”
The golden sphere floated toward Markus.
“This power has waited centuries for a successor.”
Markus immediately stepped back.
“No.”
The minister blinked.
“No?”
“I’m not a warrior,” Markus said firmly. “I’m not a king. I’m just an ordinary merman.”
“And if this power caused so much destruction before… what if it destroys me too?”
Silence filled the void.
Then unexpectedly—
the minister smiled.
“That fear is precisely why you were chosen.”
Markus looked confused.
“Those who crave power are unworthy of wielding it.”
The minister stepped closer.
“The Seal of Heaven does not choose the strongest soul.”
“It chooses the purest one.”
His body flickered weakly.
“My consciousness cannot endure much longer.”
The cave began trembling violently.
The minister raised two glowing fingers.
“Open your spiritual gate, Markus.”
Golden energy gathered around his hand.
“Listen to the ocean.”
“Feel the currents.”
“Do not resist them.”
The minister pressed his fingers against Markus’s forehead.
Instantly—
a massive surge of power erupted through Markus’s body.
His eyes widened in shock.
Golden energy raced through his veins like raging currents. Strange symbols appeared beneath his skin, glowing faintly.
Outside the cave, the ocean itself began reacting.
Currents spiraled violently.
Creatures fled the surrounding waters.
The sea trembled as though recognizing the rebirth of an ancient power.
Markus collapsed to his knees, gritting his teeth against the overwhelming force tearing through him.
Then suddenly—
everything became calm.
Markus slowly opened his eyes.
Golden light shimmered within them briefly before fading.
The minister stared at him in disbelief.
“…Impossible.”
Markus breathed heavily.
“What happened?”
The old spirit’s hands trembled.
“You opened your spiritual gate… on your very first attempt.”
Even among ancient cultivators, such talent had been nearly impossible.
The minister slowly laughed.
“Perhaps… there is still hope for this world after all.”
Far away, deep beneath the darkest trenches of the ocean—
something ancient opened its eyes.
And the abyss stirred.
