GRADE 8 IS A TIME TO FORM FRIENDSHIPS. MAKE BONDS. FIND YOURSELF.
I had spent my grade 8 year chasing the approval of weird boys who hated the girls but at the same time wanted to fuck them.
All this while also rendezvousing with the girls that hated the boys. But still craves their attention
I wasn’t popular. Never was.
I was well known. There’s a difference. If I went into a room I always knew at least one person, but I wasn’t invited to places. Wasn’t included in snapchat stories. Wasn’t tagged on tiktoks.
It wasn’t a problem. I wasn’t sad. I had my friend group who did those things.
Leeana was who you would call popular. She was pretty. Really pretty. She had to be, because in the brains department, she wasn’t as blessed.
She was a pushover. The kind of bitch who would agree to sex because the man said “please”.
Louisa was also pretty. But she also lacked brain work. She was very basic. There wasn’t much to her. She wore Lululemon and she ate Crumbl cookies.
I John was there. I was intelligent but I never came home with an F. I wasn’t like jaw dropping hot but I wasn’t ugly.
I think.
The previous summer, we had all hung out a lot. However the summer of grade 8 me and Leeanna barely talked, and I didn’t have Louisa added anywhere.
Was it sad? Yes. I didn’t want to be a “Betty” in High-school. I’d honestly drop out. I sometimes think about that day in grade 8 where we swore. “best friends forever” Louisa had said. How fucking ironic of her.
We didn’t fight. But I always knew it would come. And you know l
I’m glad it did. I met new people and did new things.
I sometimes feel bad for Leeanna and Louisa. They had a good thing. Forced and built on lies and secretive bitchiness. Sure. But it was a thing. But oh how they wrecked it all. Never mind all that.
I’d die before I ended up like them.
Maybe that’s why I already did.
