"A spell bounding and absorbing story. It compels one to keep on reading. The characters are well thought out and with refreshing new variances on old established concepts. This book would make a great movie. I personally would have like the hero to sometimes get it wrong completely. Him ending up in situations where he does not get out from so easily.. That said, it is still one of the more enjoyable books I have read. Eagerly looking forward to parts 2 to 7. "

A great paranormal mystery set in the future

"Xavien is a great cop and good at his job, but he believes that he doesn't fit in. Maybe it is that that he has a hard time being attuned to his werewolf side or that he's still haunted by the unsolved murder of his mother. This story is a little slow to start, but gets interesting as it progresses."

"Xavien is the best cop on the beat, so good that he has difficulty balancing his work and family life. Although he wants badly to help people, his systematic way of doing things gives people the impression that he doesn’t have a heart. Haunted by the unsolved murder of his birth mother and negativity by his adopted mother, he finds a lead that will give him clues to help solve the case. His wife just wants to have a nice family vacation, but Xavien has a secret that even she doesn’t know about."

"Not my usual genre but very interesting and entertaining, the hero seems a bit slow at first but the reason for that becomes clear further into the book. There are quite a few grammar and spelling errors that take your attention away from the story"

Interesting and deep

"This is a great read for those who love urban fantasy with lots of characters, action and a deep pov. Clearly, the author has put a lot of thought and attention to detail into this book, and the quality of the continuity and frontman Xavien is appealing. This is detective meets the supernatural with a wealth of animal shifters and a twist of personal insight into the main character that you rarely see elesewhere. It makes this book an ambitious project, but though there were places that for me seemed a little unnecessary or misplaced, for most parts it works very well because of the mystery element. Once you read past the beginning, the story really opens up and leaves you plenty entertained. Worth a shot if you like the genre!"

"I thought the author did an excellent job of developing interesting and individual characters. The mixture of mythologies, both eastern and western helped make the story unique. While it moved a little slow in the beginning, once the action started I thought it was handled very well."
