Chapter 1 Fare Trial
Preface / Clarification
This book examines the principles of fair trial, the abuse of law, and systemic challenges in judicial practice. While the examples and case studies are drawn specifically from the Bulgarian legal system, the legal principles discussed—under Article 6 of the European Convention on Human Rights, Article 47 of the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights, and Article 14 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights—apply throughout the European Union and in all jurisdictions adhering to these international instruments. Readers are encouraged to reflect and draw analogies to their own national systems, as the issues presented here are not unique to Bulgaria but illustrate universal challenges in upholding fair trial rights and the rule of law.
