Chapter 1
✍️ Author’s Introduction
Hey, my name is Vedant Tiwari. I’m 14 years old.
So… do you want to know something kinda interesting? The idea of this story actually came from a dream I had.
It wasn’t even one of those normal dreams you forget after waking up. This one stayed in my head like it was real. Like I actually saw that world for a few minutes and then got pulled back to reality.
When I woke up, I just couldn’t stop thinking about it. It felt weird… but also really cool. So I started writing it down before I forgot everything.
I’m not some professional writer or anything. I just like stories, anime, manga, and random ideas that come out of nowhere at night when you’re trying to sleep.
So yeah, this story might feel a bit strange or confusing sometimes, but that’s kinda how it came to me in the first place.
Anyway… I hope you enjoy “Versa Spectulam.”
Let’s see where this goes.
📖 Chapter 1 (Opening)
In the city of Kyoto, there was a boy named Glien.
He was the quiet type—the kind of student who didn’t really talk much unless someone talked to him first. Most of the time, he was just in his own world… either thinking or reading manga somewhere alone.
He was an otaku, and honestly, he didn’t mind it at all. He liked his small world.
He had like 1–2 friends (not many, but enough), and surprise—they were otakus too. So most of their conversations were either about anime, manga, or random “what if this was real life” theories that made no sense but felt deep at night.
One day, one of his friends came super excited and said, “Bro, you HAVE to read this manga.”
The name was “The Reversing World of Mirrors.”
They kept hyping it up like it was some hidden masterpiece or secret underground gem that only “real readers” would understand.
Glien didn’t react much at first… but curiosity is a dangerous thing.
So after school, he went and bought it.
Not because he was super interested…
but because, well… what else was he supposed to do after hearing it that many times?
On the way home, he kept thinking—Why does the name sound kinda weird though? Mirrors and reversing world? Sounds like one of those stories where nothing makes sense until it suddenly makes too much sense.
He shrugged it off and opened the book later that night.
And that’s where everything started…
At first, Glien actually found the manga really interesting.
It wasn’t just some random story—it felt deep. Like the kind of manga that makes you pause for a second and think, wait… why does this feel too real?
He kept turning the pages slowly, not even rushing it. For once, he wasn’t distracted by anything else—no phone, no noise, just him and the manga.
He even thought, okay… maybe my friends weren’t exaggerating this time.
Everything was normal… until he reached that one page.
The page.
The one that didn’t feel like the rest.
At first glance, it looked simple. Same art style, same manga format… nothing suspicious. But something about it felt off. Like when your brain says “this is fine” but your instincts are like “nah bro, something is weird here.”
Glien paused.
He didn’t even realize he stopped breathing properly for a second.
He blinked once… then again.
And that’s when he felt it.
Like the page wasn’t just ink on paper… but something that was looking back at him.
He laughed a little nervously to himself and said, “Okay… I’m overthinking this. It’s just a manga page.”
But even he didn’t fully believe his own words.
Because deep down…
he already knew—
this page was not normal.
And whatever came next… was definitely going to change something.
In the middle of that page, Glien read something that made him stop for a second.
It said that by performing a certain ritual, you could enter a parallel world.
At first, he literally laughed.
Like… actually laughed.
He even muttered, “Bro what is this? This is so fake 😭”
But then he kept reading.
The ritual was simple… almost too simple.
You had to draw a specific symbol on a mirror… and then say the words:
“Versa Spectulam” three times.
And that’s it.
According to the manga, the ritual would be complete.
Glien leaned back and smiled like, okay this is definitely some fake creepy internet-level story.
But… somewhere in his mind, a stupid idea started forming.
Later that night, he thought, what if I do it as a joke?
Not because he believed it…
but because it would be fun for his small live stream.
So he set it up.
Just his room, his phone, and a mirror in front of him.
Only his two friends were watching the stream.
One of them immediately typed in chat:
“Bro don’t do it 💀 there was no ritual in the manga at all”
The other said the same thing:
“Stop trolling, this isn’t even in the story”
But Glien just laughed it off.
“Relax guys, you’re just messing with me,” he said on stream.
He picked up the marker.
He drew the symbol on the mirror.
At first, it felt dumb. Like a school prank that was going too far for no reason.
Then he looked at his reflection.
And for a split second… the reflection didn’t copy him properly.
He blinked.
“Okay… I’m just tired,” he whispered.
He shook it off.
And then he said the words.
“Versa Spectulam.”
Once.
The room felt a little quieter.
“Versa Spectulam.”
Twice.
The lights flickered… just slightly.
He paused.
His friends in chat started spamming: “BRO STOP” “THIS IS SUS” “TURN BACK 😭”
But Glien, half nervous now, still smiled like it was a joke.
“Versa Spectulam.”
Third time.
And everything stopped.
No sound.
No typing.
Even his breathing felt weird, like it was delayed.
The mirror… didn’t reflect him properly anymore.
It felt like something on the other side had finally noticed him.
And then—
the mirror grabbed him.
Not physically like a hand…
but like reality itself folded for a second.
Glien’s eyes widened.
“Wait—this is not funny anymore—”
And before he could finish—
the mirror pulled him in.
