Chapter 1 - A Fallen Angel is Born
(Anywhere and everywhere.)
He thought that he never had to run.
Only that he suddenly was.
The light behind him stretched white and boundless. But it slowly grew darker and colder the further he ran. The sky and surface moved the same direction as the light, not physical but conceptual. Aurelion heard heaven faintly calling his name. He did not want to hear why. In his mind, punishment was the only outcome. The space surrounding him was bending inwards like it was trying to guide him back. However he kept running, choosing the unknown instead of God’s judgement. Killing someone was something that should never have happened. He didn’t want it, he didn’t mean it, but still it happened. Aurelion looked up. His halo had disappeared. He looked at his wings. They were still mostly white but small dark feathers started to appear. Fear flowed through his mind. His angelic body was already decaying. Aurelion pressed his hands against his ears, trying to exclude the voices. He knew if he would return now he would certainly be thrown into the depths of hell. So he kept running until he reached the boundary of the mortal worlds. Cold, sin, despair, it was all there. He stared down into the darkness. The only way to survive was in front of him. A small feeling of doubt was present. He looked back at the light. His home, purpose, his god, it was all there. Heaven was still calling.
“ I am sorry” he whispered
Then fear made the choice for him.
The light vanished.
He fell.
