Love confusion

Summary

Some people meet once and forget… others meet and change everything. Jessica thought her life was finally simple — until Allen entered it like a storm, and James became the one person she could never fully understand… or ignore. Between chaos, laughter, misunderstandings, and moments that felt too real to be accidental, their lives slowly started twisting into something none of them expected. Love doesn’t always arrive softly. Sometimes… it arrives loud. And once it does, nothing stays the same.

Jessica Miller

An 18-year-old girl who always looks like she’s glowing from the inside out.

Loud laugh, warm smile, the kind of energy that makes people feel comfortable around her. But that’s only what people see.

Behind it, she carries family pressure and problems she never talks about.

She’s learned how to smile through things she doesn’t understand how to fix.

Born in America, raised in the UK — she never really felt like she fully belonged anywhere. Always in between places, never fully settled.

James Williams

A 19-year-old guy who keeps to himself. Quiet, distant, and hard to read. Most of his time is spent in his own world, usually gaming or on his phone.

He doesn’t have a big friend group and prefers silence over company. After losing his father, he was left to handle a powerful family empire much earlier than most people his age. Because of that, he grew up fast — responsible, serious, and emotionally closed off.

People often think he’s cold, but he’s just used to carrying things alone.

Jessica’s POV

They just treat me like I’m not their daughter. Like seriously, I just turned 18 last month and they’re already sending me abroad. Well… technically not abroad, because it’s my homeland.

Walking through the airport feels heavier when you’re alone.

My eyes move around slowly, scanning everything — every corner feels familiar and distant at the same time.

That shop over there… I remember crying silently there as a kid because I wasn’t allowed to get chips.

Sounds silly.

Until you remember my brother got everything he wanted… and I got nothing.

Ugh.

Sometimes I really hate how things are in this house.

“The way they admire my stupid brother, Collin, like he’s some kind of king… but you realise that it's never his fault. I mean he loves me.

I sit in the waiting area, feeling empty. Not even happy about leaving — just tired.

Maybe this is what freedom is supposed to feel like.

I glance at the screen again.

Boarding.

Oh no.

Grabbing my bag tighter, I hurry forward, trying not to look as panicked as I feel. Of course I’m late — of course this is how my new beginning starts.

“Phew…” I breathe out as I step inside the plane. “Made it.”

Now comes the fun part… finding my seat.

I walk down the aisle, eyes scanning left and right.

14A… 14A…

Where are you???
