The Boy Nobody Saw
People don't just disappear in small towns. At least that's what I believed before I met him. Now, I wasn't so sure of what this town was capable of hiding. Because the moment he arrived, everything started to feel... off. And suddenly, the town I thought I knew didn't feel so familiar anymore. Like the town itself was trying to keep a secret. The day he came everyone avoided him apart from me I stuck by his side until everything changed he got distant quickly I thought to myself "did I do something wrong?" At first I told myself I was overthinking it. People change, that's normal... right? But the way he avoided my eyes, the way his voice went quiet whenever I ask too many questions. It didn't feel normal. It felt like he was hiding something. And not just from me, but from everyone. Later that night, I'd catch a glimpse of him through my window, standing out on, the empty street like he was waiting for something... or someone. That's when the feeling really set in. The one I couldn't ignore anymore. Something wasn't right about him. And deep down, I think I knew... He wasn't the only one keeping secrets.
