Summary

In many ways, Charlie is a strange girl who doesn’t seem to fit in in Sweden. Apparently, nobody knows where she comes from or how she arrived under such mysterious circumstances. Rumours circulate about fog and classified objects. Charlie is an orphan who has had more than enough of her many foster families. She runs away, stealing her file, and discovers a white stone with blood-red lines inside. Enveloped by thick fog, Charlie suddenly finds herself in a completely alien world where mythical creatures, magic and a medieval way of life are commonplace. This strange world is ruled by the evil magician Oden and his berserkers, who have it firmly in their cruel grip. And for some reason, he has his sights set on Charlie! Then there is Sora, a young woman who awakens on the advanced planet Euripides after a 15,000-year mystical slumber. Here, science and technology reign supreme. What connection exists between these two worlds? A fantasy adventure for young and old alike.

Forword

This story is rooted in Norse mythology. I use the Swedish spelling (e.g. Bärsärker instead of Berserker and Oden instead of Odin). I deliberately chose this way of writing to differentiate my story from the legends of literature.

And apart from that: Who says that my story is not the true one and that the legends have been falsified over the millennia?

With this in mind: have fun reading!

The book uses Â/â instead of the Norse Å/å because the character ^ is more rune-like and therefore fits the story better. There are no “round” runes because they are too difficult to scratch due to the grain in the wood.

The magicians have Nordic god names, the human population has Old Norse names.

Lillby and Storby are fictional places. Lillby means small town in Swedish and Storby means big town.
