Epilogue (Nine Years Ago)
Just outside the city center stood two large pink buildings side by side. Compared to the others around them, they were bigger, older, and within their crumbling walls lived countless monster children of different kinds and ages.
The people nearby believed these buildings were ordinary orphanages. It was better for everyone that way. Besides, there was nothing to prove otherwise… at least, nothing they could see.
Star Wild lived in the building on the left, the one with pale pink walls that always carried the scent of flowers.
Like the other children, Star knew they had not been born there. But that did not matter. This place was home. Their friends were here. There were countless caretakers they saw as mothers. The outside world did not matter to them in the slightest. As long as they had a warm home and their friends by their side, they could have stayed there forever.
