Yumi was a kind, innocent, and sensitive 15-year-old girl. Everyone loved her, and she lived peacefully with her parents. But that peace did not last forever.

One day, her parents went shopping, but on the way, they got into a terrible accident and died instantly. When Yumi heard the news, she cried continuously. She stopped eating properly, and her heart was completely broken after losing her parents.

At her parents’ funeral, she met her uncle Haruto and aunt Rina. They lived in Yumemura Village, so Yumi moved in with them and had to transfer to a new school. Since Haruto and Rina had no children of their own, they cared for Yumi like their own daughter.

However, adjusting to the new village was difficult for her. She missed her parents deeply every day. Her uncle and aunt owned a small café, and Yumi helped thm there in her free time.

Whenever she felt lonely, she went to the park and spent most of her time singing because singing was the only thing that comforted her. Her biggest dream was to become a singer. ✨

.One day, Yumi went to a park. She sat on a bench and started singing softly. At that time, an old lady was selling ice cream nearby.

When the lady heard Yumi singing, she came and sat beside her. She looked emotional and asked gently,

“Are you new here?”

Yumi replied, “Yes, I am new here. I live with my uncle and aunt. They love me very much.”

The lady smiled and asked her name.

“My name is Yumi. What is yours?”

The lady said, “Everyone here calls me Aya. You can call me Aya too.”

Aya noticed sadness in Yumi’s eyes and asked, “Are you a singer?”

Yumi shook her head. “No… I just sing when I feel sad. I miss my parents. They recently died in an accident.”

Aya’s eyes filled with tears. “Oh my dear… I am so sorry. Don’t be upset. Let me make you something special.”

She smiled and asked, “Which flavour do you like?”

Yumi replied softly, “I like strawberry.”

Aya made a strawberry ice cream and gave it to her. Yumi took a bite and said, “Oh my God… wow! I have never tasted such delicious ice cream. I love it. This is my favourite now.”

Aya laughed gently. “If you like it, come here anytime. I will give you ice cream for free.”

Yumi smiled brightly. “Talking to you makes me feel better. I will come here every day and even sing for you.”

Yumi went home happily. Her uncle and aunt saw her and asked, “Oh, our princess is looking happy. What is the reason?”

Yumi said, “Oh, I met an ice-cream selling lady, Aya. She is so kind. She gave me tasty ice cream and suddenly my mood changed. I felt so good.”

Then Aunt Rina said, “Seeing you happy like this makes me happy too.”

Uncle Haruto said, “For this special moment, I have made special coffee. Who wants to try it?”

Yumi said, “I want to try it!”

Then they all enjoyed the coffee together. After the coffee, Yumi said, “Uncle, I want to make coffee like you because you are the best coffee maker in the world for me. So please, Uncle Haruto, teach me how to make coffee.”

Uncle Haruto said, “Oh my little princess Yumi, if you want to learn how to make coffee, I will teach you. No problem.”

Then Aunt Rina said, “If our princess wants to do something, no one will stop her.”

After that, a customer came and ordered coffee, and Uncle and Aunt went to take the order. Yumi started thinking, “Mom, Dad, I am happy here. Don’t worry about me. My uncle and aunt take good care of me. And you know, today I met an old lady. She was so kind and also gave me ice cream. That reminded me of you, when we went together to eat ice cream and it got stuck on your face.” She smiled softly and went to help her uncle and aunt.

A fter all the work, Uncle Haruto went to buy groceries for the home. On the way, he saw a beautiful little soft cat and started thinking, “I will take this cat for my Yumi. When she sees it, she will be so happy.” Then he took the cat home for Yumi.

When Uncle Haruto came home, he called out, “Yumi, princess, I have a surprise for you!”

When Yumi heard her uncle’s voice, she quickly came running. As soon as she saw the beautiful cat, she screamed loudly. Her aunt also came when she heard Yumi’s scream and asked, “Yumi, why are you screaming so loudly? Is there any problem?”

Yumi replied, “No, my dear auntie! Uncle brought a cat for me, and I am so happy because I am a cat lover!”

Then Uncle Haruto said, “Oh, I know you would like it. That is why I brought it for you.”

Yumi smiled and said, “Oh, thank you, Uncle! You are the best uncle!”

Then Auntie told them, “Dinner is ready. Come and eat, otherwise it will get cold.”

After that, they all started eating dinner together. Uncle Haruto and Yumi praised Auntie for making such delicious food. Suddenly, Yumi started crying unexpectedly.

Her uncle and aunt became worried. Auntie asked, “Dear, do you not like the food? Is it not tasty? Tell me what you want to eat, and I will make it quickly.”

Uncle Haruto said, “If you want, I will take you to a restaurant to eat.”

Then Yumi said, “Oh, Uncle and Auntie, I am not crying because of the food. I am crying because of happiness. I cannot explain how happy I am.”

Auntie sighed in relief and said, “Oh, what a relief! I thought you did not like the food, my dear.”

Then they all continued eating together happily.

After dinner, Auntie made a delicious milkshake for Yumi because she loved milkshakes very much. She called Yumi and said, “Come and drink your milkshake, dear. And sleep early because tomorrow is your first day at your new school.”

Yumi smiled softly and replied, “Okay, Auntie, I will sleep early. But first, I want to spend some time in the terrace garden.”

Auntie nodded and said, “Alright, but do not stay awake for too long. You have to wake up early tomorrow.”

Then Uncle Haruto and Auntie wished her good night and went to their rooms to sleep. Yumi quietly walked to the terrace garden to spend some peaceful time alone.

The night sky looked beautiful, and the bright moon was shining like silver. A cool breeze touched her face gently, making the atmosphere calm and comforting. As Yumi looked at the glowing moon, she slowly started singing a soft song that made her heart feel lighter and peaceful.

But after a few moments, she began missing her parents deeply. Tears slowly rolled down her cheeks as memories of them filled her heart. She took out a picture of her parents and softly talked to it, telling them everything that had happened during her day in the new village.

She told them about her new home, the delicious dinner, the lovely terrace garden, and especially about the beautiful cat Uncle Haruto had gifted her. Even though she felt lonely without her parents, she also felt grateful to have such a caring uncle and aunt beside her.

After spending some quiet moments under the moonlight, Yumi gently wiped away her tears and looked up at the shining stars. Holding the picture of her parents close to her heart, she whispered, “I hope you are watching over me.”

Her little cat softly rubbed against her hand as if trying to comfort her. A faint smile appeared on Yumi’s face, and for the first time in many days, her heart felt a little warmer and less lonely.

She carried the cat to her room, wrapped herself in her soft blanket, and lay down peacefully. Outside her window, the moon continued to glow brightly, filling the room with silver light, as if the night itself was protecting her dreams.

With memories in her heart, hope in her eyes, and her little cat sleeping beside her, Yumi slowly drifted into a peaceful sleep, ready to begin a new chapter of her life the next morning.✨️
