Chapter 1 Memories

And yes she’s an angel. But no one would care it would seem. Of her, would they care? Who is she? With her spirit as her wings. And her hair is red as redwood. And her green eyes like those of emeralds. Of her beauty no one compares to, glittering and shining as she does. But who knows her name? Her love is something sweet, like that among the lilies orchids. Who can they say? Why do they care? Of what ought to be of her well being? But they will never know of her great sadness. The gloom shall overtake her. And of her pain, that kills her. Like a knife being thrown towards her. What can she do? Someone! If only someone could help this beautiful angel, out of love, and kindness. But who would it be? Could it be her hero someday? A friend? The love of her life, perhaps?

No one will ever know, but her. Will she ever know who will save her, from this despair she’s in? While she lays on the floor; crying her beautiful angel tears. She shed lots of tears, one by one; all that night with the moon glowing brightly. The night is quiet and lonely. As if she knew someone would find her there. Laying on the ground. Wanting a hope, a future of some sort of happiness in life. For she had been crying for more than hours. With that came a damp face with all the tears she had shed. Why was she crying? For she had received a letter from the love of her life. About how he had left her for someone better than her. And keeping secrets from her is what he’s best at. But now after receiving the letter and reading it. She thought it would be about when he’ll be back from his journey. But no! It was about his decision of what he thought was best for him, and not her, really. With that she thought of all the things that took place before he had left. When he had left, him and Hanna had gotten into an argument over something she couldn’t even remember about. With that she thought ‘For what have I done?’

Thinking to herself and thinking she was being selfish over someone she could not have anymore. Hanna felt like screaming out loud, and at herself. She was feeling so angry and sad at something so stupid and selfish. With that she lets go of the letter she let out a sad sigh. She got off the floor of her bedroom. In her castle, alone walking the empty halls wanting to see him more than ever, and asking what she’d done to deserve this sad empty home and without him she felt like nothing. She felt like what’s the point in all of this? For she’d loved him all her days, and years; but that was all just memories now. What will happen to the angel dripping in sadness now? What shall she do for her time being? Did she care about whether or not she'll ever love again? For they had known each other forever. Did they not? Yes, way back when they were younger; as children playing by the pond in the forest, with birds chirping and singing songs. But that’s all over now. ‘I’ll make it through’ she thought. With hoping she’ll get over him and maybe be happy; that it would be sooner rather than later. She had to be stronger than ever now. For she is the princess of the land now.

And nothing can stop her or her love of wanting her people to be happy, like what her dear father had wanted when she was little. Before he had died when she was very little. She had made a promise to her father:

“I promise, I’ll make them happy. And make this kingdom true, to its entirety. I won’t let you down father.”

After that memory came back into her mind. With that, she lets out a soft breath and sheds one last tear. But she wipes her tears and gets up and walks out and heads toward the garden.

While in the garden, She goes to her favorite spot and sits down. Looking all around her she sees her fathers favorite flowers. She gets up and smells the bright golden roses, and says.

“If only you were still here you’d know what to say to me now, when I need you.”

Getting up she looks at the midnight sky, with star’s shining brighter than ever. She can smell the cool fresh air. With the moon shining brightly over her as if it was looking at her in it’s full glow saying “it will be alright”. After that she heads back to her bedroom and sleeps peacefully. That night it rained harder than ever. As if the clouds had been crying with her, with the echoes “It's alright, everything will be okay”.

With the sounds of birds chirping and the sunshines with its warm welcoming good morning. She got up letting out a good morning stretch. Her maids came in and greeted her with,

“Good morning, your highness! How did you sleep, well enough?”

She did not respond, she only made a small smile. With that the maids continue to get her ready for the day. Then she heads down the stairs to her dining room to have tea and breakfast. After eating, she headed to the library to catch-up on her studies and royal tasks.

After a few hours had gone by, she got up to walk around the palace for a little break. While walking she entered the garden and walked towards the forest heading to her favorite quiet place. It was the treehouse her and her father had put there for her when she was little. Sitting on the chair next to the treehouse where her father would sit to read and chat with her, while playing in the treehouse. She sat there thinking of hope, wanting hope for her in life. Will she find something good in life soon?

There was silence, but someone broke the silence saying.

“I thought I’d see you here!”

She jumped up and saw it was one of her dearest friends, Lady Lilly.

“Oh Lady Lilly, I’ve missed you oh so much! Where have you been these days?”

Lady Lilly replied. “Just helping my mother out on the business she attends to. Why, I have missed you too. And you're now a Crown Princess, Hanna?! Wow, time flies by so fast!”

“Why yes, it does.” Replied Hanna with a small smile.

For Hanna and Lady Lilly were always the best of fiends, no matter what or what happens they always stuck together like a bond between two sisters. Even though they were not related by blood they were very much like sisters.

“How’s you and John?” Said Lilly not knowing what had happened yesterday with the letter.

Hanna did not answer for a while then she said,

“John has left me for someone new and better than I-“

With that being said Lady Lilly cut her off saying:

“Hanna you are way better off without him. For he has made a poor choice in doing what he did to you. It’s his loss if he comes back to you. And you're way better off with someone better than him anyways. He doesn’t deserve your love at all.”

Hanna knew what Lady Lilly was saying. But somewhere in her heart she thought that Lady Lilly would never know what it was like to have someone like him, or to know what he was like before all these secrets came and pulled them apart and changed their ways of thinking as they were turning into adults.

Hanna let out a sigh and nodded her head and said.

“You're right Lilly.”

Lady Lilly knew it’s going to be a long time before Hanna could be with another man in her life, but Lilly was willing to be by Hanna’s side in this difficult time.
