What Is Love
Love
Not just a feeling
But actively a choice
A choice of forgiveness
A choice to continue moving forward
A choice of choosing laughter,
Fun,
And good-heartedness
A choice that sets you free
A choice that ties you down
A choice to sink or drown
A choice of picking the other person or choosing yourself
A choice to forgive again when mistakes are made
A choice to stay loyal
A choice to leave
And a choice to stay
Love is the decision of all of them
The one that doesn’t necessarily make sense to anyone else
Love drives you crazy
Drives you up the walls insane
And makes you question if you’ve made the right choice
Time and time again
But you know you did
Because life without them…
Without them, you feel like you’ll drown
Without them, life gets duller
Becomes lifeless and grey
Without them, you have no appetite
There is no hunger
There is no sex appeal
Without them, you gasp for air
But you can never seem to get enough
Hooked up to an oxygen tank
Yet it’s empty without refills
Without them…
There is nothing
No hope
No joy
No inspiration
Or even the will to live
All of it gone
So I will choose you every time
Time and time again
And when they ask
“Are you certain?”
My answer will be,
“Yes,
“Without a doubt.”
So what is love?
Love is a choice
A push and a pull
A give and a take
But most importantly
Love is You
