At the dawn of time, there was a house that ruled justly. The people acclaimed them, the neighbouring kingdoms were their allies. The Valeforts were not entirely human, divine blood flowed through them and enabled their women to beget the Pure Ones. Beings who upon reaching maturity stopped ageing, endowed with supernatural powers and difficult to kill. As the years passed, however, the Pure Ones proved dangerous. Greedy, passionate, eager to rule over everyone and everything.
Rancour and jealousy made itself felt even among them. They formed lineages and began to conquer the various kingdoms, fighting each other, making humans their slaves and food reserves. How to stop such powerful creatures? The Valeforts found only one drastic solution. They killed all the women of the family in which Valefort blood flowed and, with the help of magic, placed a curse on their own lineage. No woman would ever be born again, lest the Pure Ones should return and be able to regain strength and dominate the earth. That night, because of all that innocent blood spilled, the white moon, hanging in the sky above their castle, began to be covered with vermilion veins.
That sign did not escape an ancient Pure One who was hiding in the Valefort castle. Informed by a maid loyal to him, he learned of the ritual and the curse too late. That night he lost his beloved, but managed to create a way to interfere with the curse and thus have a way of salvation for his race.On a night when innocent blood will be shed. The blood moon will again appearFor the Pure Ones hope will returnFor a Procreatress will be born
