Chapter 1: struggling for life and birth

The story begins in a modest little house in the city of Gary, Indiana. Inside lived a small family of three: the father, Johnson Smith; the mother, Lustiyana Hey; and their young son, James. Though squeezed by poverty, their home was overflowing with love. Life moved at a quiet, normal pace, until one day, Lustiyana’s health began to falter.

Concerned, Johnson took her to a local doctor. The initial routine tests revealed nothing unusual, but her condition only grew worse with each passing day. Desperate for answers, Johnson moved her to a highly advanced specialist hospital. It was there, after a series of complex screenings, that the devastating truth was revealed: Lustiyana was suffering from a rare genetic disorder known as Fibrodysplasia Ossificans Progressiva (FOP). The cost for a single course of treatment was an astronomical 2 million dollars.

Hearing this, the ground slipped beneath Johnson's feet. Crushed by the weight of the diagnosis, he broke down weeping right there in the hospital corridor. Yet, he refused to give up. He began working grueling day and night shifts, pushing his body to the absolute limit. But no matter how hard he labored, the mountain of money required remained impossibly out of reach. Within a few agonizing months, Lustiyana passed away.

Johnson was left utterly shattered and alone, with only his son, James, left to live for. But as the grieving father and son clung to each other, they had absolutely no idea that in the dark shadows just behind their city, a massive and terrifying catastrophe was already taking birth....
