Prologue
My dear reader,
I have long yearned to tell this tale from my homeland, though few have ever been willing to listen. I fear it is because logic and reason have slowly eroded our imagination—and imagination, I believe, is the true key to spirituality. Yet even those who know the spirits, who commune with gods and ancients, dare not believe there is another universe beyond our own.Even so, I am glad you are here, willing to listen to my words and hear them in your mind. There are countless tales I could share with you. Some are recorded in the history books, while others have been forgotten by everyone but me. Therefore, I will not start at the beginning of time, nor even within the first ten Eras. No, I will begin in the Era of Emperor Caspian, where one boy dared to challenge the very rules of life and death. Sit back, reader, and listen as I share with you,
The Blood of Zetia.
