Chapter 1
So yeah. As the book name suggests, this is My version of Death Battle. Here’s how it works.
1. I get to select the death matches.
2. I’m not going to add contestants that don’t have an official book. So for example — until I write the books and arcs out — that means no Nathan Whittman, Attack on Titan, Bleach, Hellsing, BeyBlade or anything until they get a book.
3. Any story concepts (over on Story Ideas) that are not planned, are not allowed as they don’t have a book nor an OC created.
Ok. Now that all that’s out of the way, Here are the rules.
Content rules:
1. No sexual content.
No sex, lemons, limes, or any sexual activity in this book.
2. No toxic debates.
You can disagree respectfully, but no harassment or “your OC sucks” comments.
3. You can request matchups.
You’re allowed to request a death match for a chapter and/or analysis, as long as it follows these rules.
Combatant rules:
1. No prior knowledge.
Fighters don’t know anything about their opponent unless they would logically know it in their own canon.
2. Morals removed.
Characters fight to kill, even if they normally wouldn’t. Their personality stays the same, but moral restraints are lifted.
3. Maximum potential.
Each fighter is analyzed at their peak shown capability unless the episode says otherwise.
4. No outside help.
Allies, summons, and team members are not allowed unless they’re part of the character’s normal kit.
5. No composite versions.
Only one version of a character is used unless the episode explicitly says otherwise.
6. No mid‑season retcons.
Once a character enters a matchup, their stats and lore are locked for that episode.
Canon & scaling rules:
1. All official material allowed.
Every official source counts unless it contradicts the primary canon.
2. Primary canon takes priority.
If multiple continuities exist, the main canon is used unless stated otherwise.
3. Non‑canon allowed if consistent.
Non‑canon feats can be used if they don’t contradict the primary source.
4. No fanon or headcanon.
Only official material counts.
5. Feats over statements.
What a character does matters more than what someone says they can do.
6. Consistent scaling only.
Characters can scale to allies/enemies they consistently match, but not to outliers.
Fight rules:
1. Environmental factors can’t decide the fight.
Random events (meteors, earthquakes, etc.) can’t be the reason someone wins or loses.
2. The “100 fights” rule.
If two characters are extremely close, the winner is the one who would win most out of 100 hypothetical fights.
3. Entertainment does not override logic.
The fight animation or writing can be dramatic, but the winner is chosen by analysis, not cool factor.
I wanna aim for a “fan made death battle” kind of thing. Have matches but add a spin with my own characters in it.
Also, I have zero idea on music scores. Might as leave that to Brandon Yeates. However, you (the audience) can help name some themes of the matches.
