The Golden Cage

The setting is an abandoned, desolate warehouse in the dead of night.

Inside, the drama's first main lead, Kaelen, stands tall dressed in a sharp black suit, holding a sleek suitcase in his hand. Standing right behind him like a silent shadow is Zephyr Chen. Kaelen is in the middle of a tense deal with a rival gang member.

Suddenly, Darian—Kaelen’s trusted advisor, who is secretly a traitor—approaches Kaelen and whispers urgently, "Sir, we should leave this place right now. Aiden is misbehaving back home and refusing to listen to the servant."

Hearing this, Kaelen instructs his guards to handle the rival gang member and keep a strict eye on him. With that, Kaelen turns and leaves the warehouse.Right behind the same warehouse is a narrow alley where a small florist shop is located. This is where the drama's second main lead, Eli, works alongside his uncle and aunt.

Outside, a heavy rain is pouring down. Looking at the weather, the uncle sighs, thinking that no more customers will show up tonight. He turns to Eli and says, "Eli, bring all the items from outside back into the shop."

As Eli is moving the inventory inside, a flower pot accidentally slips from his hands and rolls out onto the main road.

Eli rushes out onto the road to retrieve it. Just as he bends down, a car speeds past, splashing a wave of muddy rainwater straight onto Eli's face.

Infuriated, Eli yells at the top of his lungs, "Hey! Stop the car!"

The car screeches to a halt, and Kaelen steps out.

Eli, glaring at him in pure anger, snaps, "If you don't know how to drive properly, why do you even get behind the wheel?! Because of you, my flower pot is broken and my face is completely ruined!"

Hearing the commotion, the uncle rushes out of the shop. The moment his eyes fall on Kaelen, his face pales with fear. He immediately steps in front of Eli and apologizes profusely on his behalf.

Kaelen looks at the uncle coldly and says, "Make sure he watches his mouth from now on." Without another word, Kaelen gets back into his car and drives away.

Still fuming, Eli turns to his uncle and asks, "Uncle, do you know this man? Why were you apologizing to him? He was the one who should have apologized to us!"

The uncle simply tells Eli to calm down, finish up his work, and walks back inside without answeringIn the next scene, Kaelen is back home, confronting his younger brother, Aiden. "Aiden, you need to listen to everything the servant says," Kaelen instructs firmly.

Aiden crosses his arms and stubbornly refuses.

Kaelen sighs and says, "Well, I thought I would get my brother his favorite gift for his upcoming birthday. But since my brother is being so mischievous, I guess he doesn't want his favorite gift after all."

Hearing this, Aiden’s eyes light up. "No! I want my favorite gift!" he insists. "All of my friends have their own personal tutors, but I don't have one."

Kaelen smiles faintly. "Oh? So, what kind of tutor do you want?"

Aiden replies enthusiastically, "Someone who will care for me, be my friend, and play games with me!"

Kaelen nods and promises, "Alright. I promise you will get a tutor exactly like that. But you must promise me in return that you will not trouble them."

Aiden happily smiles and promises him back.

Just then, a servant enters and announces that dinner is served. Kaelen holds Aiden's hand and walks him to the dining table.

Meanwhile, at Eli’s house, Eli is having dinner with his uncle. Unable to let it go, Eli asks about the mysterious man from earlier.

His uncle sighs gravely and explains:

Uncle: "He is the leader of a dangerous mafia gang. His name is Kaelen. The thugs who come to our shop every week to collect protection money? They are his men. Eli, you must stay far away from him and his gang. They are ruthless. If anyone fails to pay them on time, they don't hesitate to take their life."

Eli shivers with fear upon hearing this. However, his sense of justice sparks inside him. He thinks to himself: 'But I wasn't the one at fault, so why should I be scared? If I ever cross paths with him again, I will definitely teach him a proper lesson.'

The next day, Eli is walking back from a store after buying some supplies for the shop. Suddenly, he spots a little boy blindly stepping onto the road, completely unaware of a speeding vehicle heading straight for him.

Reacting purely on instinct, Eli darts forward and pulls the child to safety just in time.

Breathing a sigh of relief, Eli gently asks the frightened boy:

Eli: "Hey there, are you okay? What is your name?"

Aiden: "My name is Aiden... My big brother promised he would come to pick me up, but he hasn't arrived yet."

Eli: "Don't worry, buddy. Your brother will definitely come. For now, come with me."

Eli takes Aiden back to the florist shop. Seeing Eli walk in with a strange child, his uncle asks in surprise:

Uncle: "Eli, whose child is this? Where did you bring him from?"

Eli narrates the entire incident about the near-accident. Hearing the story, the uncle softens up, smiles warmly at Aiden, and gently hands him a chocolate to comfort him.
