A colourful world
"I'm only a few chapters in, but two things are clear: 1 - this new world, the Dreamscape, is a great idea. 2 - there's a lot of work ahead of this young writer. Now, to elaborate on both. I wasn't sure about the story up until chapter 2, which is not a great thing for a new author, because a lot of people would not go to chapter 3 at all. But I did and it's only then that we finally get a glimpse of what we're dealing with. I really like the idea of this (*spoiler alert*) shattered world and am intrigued as to how it will develop. I'm very much looking forward to when we get to see other places like Dawnstar. But before we get there, there's a lot of worldbuilding that needs to take place. And I get that the author is eager to get to the point and get his story out there, but patience is key in writing, and pacing is absolutely crucial. So I want to know more about the everlasting dawn and how it works. Where does the light come from if there's no Sun or Moon, has there ever been day and night. If not - do the folk know what "day" and "night" is? That would be a fun curiosity :) All in all, I think there's a good plot here and could turn out to be a great fantasy. Possibly high fantasy at that."
