Chapter 1: Dream
“Avenya” I hear as the wind whispers to me; it’s not a pleasant voice but it’s alluring. I’m running as fast as I can to keep far away, but I know it doesn’t matter how fast I run, it will always catch me. It would help if I was in my own body maybe, just maybe I can run a little faster to escape. But I’m always in her body, this little girl’s body running away. I’ve tried hiding before, but it always finds me no matter where I go.
It has no face, it never has a face, it’s blurred but the smell, oh it smells of death. And it wants me, but I don't want to succum.I run. faster than the last time my lungs are burning like they’re being stabbed from the inside, but I can’t stop. If I stop, it finds me. I don’t want death to take me too, but I know it’s my fate it always gets me. Just like it did her parents. Their screams still piercing my thoughts over and over they won't stop.
I begin to cry, it’s getting harder to breathe and I have to stop running. “Please leave me alone” I beg and scream, “Avenya. Avenya. Avenya” the whispers get louder and louder as it approaches. Then everything stops. I know it’s nearby watching me, stalking me waiting for my next move. “Run. Run. Run” the wind tells me as it wraps around me.
But I can’t run, there is nowhere to go, nowhere to hide and it knows. I see the big broad elongated body coming closer stepping from the shadows. I accept it and my knees buckle underneath me. This is how it always happens; I don’t know who this little girl is but I’m always her, Lost and afraid. Listening to the painful screams as her parents are taken from her and she’s running for her life hoping to make it but no matter the outcome she always gets played with and stalked like prey, and in the end, ends up just like them.
But this time, something is different. As the creature starts to charge at me something in me tells me to “Fight” the voice whispers "Fight. get up and Fight” but I don’t want to fight. I want to get this pain and agony over with so I can awake from this horrible dream. I slowly bowed my head down in defeat and cried, no pain. no scream. Claws. Teeth. But nothing came. Silence swallowed the area.
I slowly lifted up my head to see the creature on the ground, head several feet from its body. I looked over to the right seeing movement and saw something emerge from the shadows where the creature was stalking me thinking death has found another form to torture me. But it wasn’t, it was a man, he stepped out of the shadows and looked at me with sympathy and concern. He looked so vaguely familiar like I’ve run into him before. He had pointy ears with piercings aligning the one on his right.
He was dark skinned and he was beautiful, his silver eyes stood out the most right along with his broad shoulders and long deep scar starting from his left eye traveling down to his collar bone. A part of me wondered how far his scar went and how he got it. He extended a hand to me, and I took it cautiously making sure it wasn’t another trick. He helped me up and I took a step back, he looked at me and gave me a little corner smile “You’re in the wrong dream world aren’t you my little moon” I looked at him confused, “Little moon, who are you and why do i keep having this dream why am I in this little girls body? I asked the man.
“My name is Nox; the other questions are something you have to figure out on your own little moon for I don’t have the right information for reasoning” me and Nox looked at each other a little longer. His eyes began to grow brighter and I felt funny. Everything began to spin and cave in on us. “It’s time for you to awake little moon, learn to fight” before I could get a word out, I was awake. There were dried up tears on my face, and my legs were sore like I’ve been doing everything in my dreams with my own body also. I turned over and the clock on my stand read a quarter past 10. I laid there for a while thinking about my dream and conversation I had, I couldn’t remember anything but a pair of silver eyes.
