Beautiful 19th century romance
"I love love love this❤️ So, it a beautifully written story set in 19th century England. The era setting, the gap between the rich and the poor in that era, very beautifully captured. Bernard puts in my head a picture of Mr Darcy, but he is not Mr Darcy, he is different, different character. He is a noble man with some strict beliefs and not very keen on marrying outside one’s class. The writer has beautifully crafted and created the character of Bernard Argon, among the other wonderful characters in the book- like aunt Ana- and I love it. A great book that I would recommend to anyone looking to read 19th century romance"
A Charming Historical Romance with Wonderful Character Tension
"Undissuaded has quickly pulled me in with its engaging characters and strong dialogue. What stands out most is Bernard's perspective and the way his assumptions are slowly challenged as he encounters the reality of Anthony's situation. His concern for his friend feels genuine, but there are already hints of deeper emotions and internal conflicts that make him a fascinating protagonist to follow. I especially enjoy the contrast between Bernard's expectations and what he actually finds. Ania is already proving to be far more nuanced than the image he initially created in his mind, and it is easy to understand why Anthony admires her so deeply. The dialogue flows naturally, and there is a subtle humor in watching Bernard navigate a world that feels so different from his own. My only suggestion would be to include a few more sensory details and village interactions to further immerse readers in the setting. The world is already charming, and a little more atmosphere would make it shine even brighter. Overall, this is a promising start to a historical romance that feels character-driven, thoughtful, and emotionally engaging. I am excited to continue Bernard's journey and see where his heart ultimately leads him."
Beautiful 🌘
"Beyond the prose and the plot, there is a fundamental truth buried in these pages that resonates long after the final chapter. It is a beautiful reminder that our experiences, however unique, are woven into the same human tapestry. This book managed to articulate the things I have felt but never had the language to name. "
Good 👍
"“This story has a very interesting historical romance setup. Bernard’s character caught my attention because he is a man who believes in rules, logic, and control, but love is something that cannot always be controlled. The conflict between friendship, duty, and unexpected feelings creates a strong emotional hook. I’m curious to see how Bernard’s journey changes him and how the relationships develop. The concept feels dramatic, complicated, and full of possibilities.”"
