Often, we take things for granted
The leaves on a tree
The petals on a flower
We assume that they will always be there
Until they're not
And that makes us confused
"Where did they go? Why did they leave me?"
Often, we take things for granted
The love in peoples heart
The good in their soul
So often do we do this, that sometimes we forget
We forget to thank them, to appreciate them
And often they leave us
So let this be a lesson to you
Never take things for granted
Unless you wish to lose it all
Just like I did
