Prologue
A grueling battle had just taken place. A demon with fiery red hair knelt on the ground. His hands were dyed in blood. His armored pants dug into him while his hands delved deeper into a bloody pelt. His cobalt eyes had the beginnings of tears. Pale shoulders shook as his heart began to ache. A few feet away from the demon stood another. His pale face having splatters of blood. A sword with a gold blade was held in his hand. His bright molten orange eyes stared solemnly at the trembling demon. Another demon swung a large blade, blood splattered on the ground as he sheathed it. Shifting to face the demons back, he walked forward, stopping a step behind him.
“So, why is Ryutatsu weeping over a bloody pelt?” the smaller of the two demons asked. Orange eyes glared at him. “Be silent, Okojo.” a sharp reply.
The wind gently caressed the scarlet hues of a fire. Ryutatsu’s shoulders began to shake further. His claws digging further into the pelt, clutching it closer to his chest as if it was a lifeline for him. Orange yellow eyes stared at the shaking demon. The demon lifted his head, a cheshire moon smiling in his torment. However he didn’t see that. A face appeared in his mind, their hair of moonlight glowing and their molten eyes staring glinted in the night.
A mirage of scales littered Ryutatsu’s being while a dragon’s tail came forth, swishing absentmindedly.
“Tsukiyo,” the demon called. All soldiers nearby looked away while the taller demon walked forward. As he stepped into the light, his hair reflected the moon above. Stopping just a few feet from Ryutatsu, he waited for him to speak. “If you had any brotherly love for me. Please grant me this one wish.”
Slowly turning his head, his blue eyes shone with tears. “Kill me. So I can reunite with him in the underworld.” he begged. The air became still, everyone waited for him, for him to grant the demons request.
Tsukiyo looked up, staring at the cheshire moon. His sword rattled, sensing its master’s emotions. “That is not what he wanted.” his voice barely above a whisper. Blue eyes stared listlessly, a moment passed as a short laugh escaped the demon.
“AAAAAAAAAA!!!!” a deafening cry echoed on the field. All covered their ears hoping to block out the cry. All except for Tsukiyo. The earth shook as Ryutatsu continued his scream, his mournful cry soon turning into a roar.
“AAAAROOOOOOOOAR!”
His face began to shift into that of a dragon as tears pierced him. His hands became talons, gripping the pelt ever tighter.
Okojo growling unsheathed his great sword running full force at the grieving demon. However something knocked him back. Tsukiyo had thrown him back with his sword. The wind from Ryutatsu’s demonic energy swirled wildly, whipping up light blue hair. This hid Tsukiyo’s expression from others.
“Okojo!” glancing behind him, a rabbit demon stood a staff in front of him. “Lord Ryutatsu’s aura is far too strong!”
“Hibiki is right!” a koi demon agreed, the wind swirled more violently. “Well I can’t exactly stop him with Tsukiyo in the way! Now can I?” he yelled back, angered by the older demons interference. “If he transforms into his true form, this entire area will be decimated!” a cat demon cried.
Tsukiyo turned to Ryutatsu, his transformation nearly complete. Dear sister, did you foresee how your death would affect him? Would affect me? Would you leave him in this state? Or would you have me end his and your suffering?
Sorrow filled his eyes as he gripped his sword tightly.
Ryutatsu opened his mouth, another mournful cry rising when the wind carried a tune. Slitted eyes widened while the wind slowly died. Scales gently shimmered in recognition. Ryutatsu slumped even more, his face returning to a more humanoid appearance. Holding the two tailed pelt in his hands. He buried his face in it, his tears soaking the soft pelt. “My dear Yo~mi~” his voice cracking from his cries.
