"Once you get started you won't be moving for awhile This is the second book I've read in this series, after Blue Butterflies, and once again shows how adept PenumbraMine is at creating storylines that grip & engross and characters that bring such a strong emotional response. I had such a physical reaction to these characters & events - tears (yes lots of tears) but also laughter at warm friendships, and lots of nodding at Aunt Elizabeth's advice (and taking notes for myself 😀) I just want things to work out so badly for Milli. And while I read this second, this story can easily be read first as PenumbraMine gives such detail. Just beware- things are often not what they seem & there's some wickedly good cliffhangers throughout as Milli fights to overcome the abuse she suffered as a child, to trust & betrayal as an adult, to build a better future. Come down to Pagosa Cliffs - like PenumbraMine warns, some of the story may be challenging or triggering for some readers, but it's definitely worth a visit and staying awhile as you read these amazing stories (and drool over Milli's cakes) "
