What is your opinion?
Very Nice.
"I enjoyed this very much. The plot was solid enough, but what really shines here is the story-telling. Great pace, good use of tension, with every chapter ending in the almost requisite page-turning phrase. Even the exposition was good (and there was a lot of it) yet somehow I never felt bogged down by it. I loved the terse, impactful dialogue. If I were to offer any critique, it would be to maybe axe some of the weak adverbs and replace them with strong descriptors instead, although my adverb radar never really went off like it does with other writing I see. I thought I saw in one of the reviews that there were grammar errors. Perhaps this has been revised since that comment, but I did not see any glaring grammar issues. There are a couple of typos (I apologize, I forgot to write them down when I saw them) but everything else looks right to me. Although I liked what you did, I would love to see your style on top of a more intricate or elaborate plot line, perhaps something with a clever plot twist or big reveal. Something like that might make you an unstoppable force. Well done!"
Brilliant
"I was hooked from the start and literally couldn't put it down until I had finished it. You created a great character in the Grandmother and built the tension throughout. The way you described the boy cuddling in and smelling sweat and cigarettes - which should have been yucky - and finding comfort, was touching. However - isn't there always😉 - the ending didn't quite deliver for me. To be honest, I'm not sure what the ending should be, but I think it needed a 'punch' or more of a reveal or something. As it is, it left me wanting something. BUT I thought it was great and would read more of your work Onwards and upwards Brian"
