Shut it, Malfoy.

Summary

This book contains quite a few Oc’s, if that isn’t your type then this book isn’t for you. 🙋‍♀️🙋‍♀️ Alexis has always been the cunning, resourceful type, it was no surprise to her, nor anyone else in her family, when the sorting hat sorted her into Slytherin. Unfortunately for Alexis, this caused a lot of troubled waters in the social hierarchy at Hogwarts School of Witch Craft and Wizardry, especially with one specific Pureblood.

Chapter 1- I solemnly swear

Potions class seemed to continue on forever, like a never ending drag of torture. Potions was never Alexis’ favourite class, but it was one of the few classes she had some sort of skill at. Her Professor, Severus Snape, was the Head of Slytherin house, and had taken a particular liking and bias to her, and the rest of the house.

After what felt like an eternity, the droning voice of a very nonchalant Snape rang out across the Potion’s classroom. “Class dismissed.” His voice rang out across the entire room, bouncing sharply off of the walls like a dull e-flat note.

Alexis wasted no time in standing up, throwing her work book into her forest green satchel bag, she flung it over her shoulder and headed straight for the door, filing out into the corridor with the rest of the students she unfortunately had to study with. Instead of heading East like the rest of the class, Alexis turned West and began her short journey to the Infirmary.

Her footsteps were quiet, but fast, on the wooden laminate flooring beneath her. A sort of sudden urgency moving swiftly through her body, empowering her. As she moved effortlessly through the halls, she lost her focus and came face to face with the last person she wanted to see. With a heavy thud, Alexis crashed into the familiar face in front of her, her bag fell to the ground and spilled her books across the scratched laminate corridor flooring.

Alexis, with a face like thunder, bent down to pick up the books, shoving them back into her satchel bag. She grabbed her bag and spared a moment to glare at the person in-front of her. “Watch where you’re going next time!” She snapped, her voice a dangerously low tone. She brushed past the boy stood in front of her and began rushing back towards the infirmary.

Non other than the Pureblood heir, Draco Malfoy, stood in her wake. He turned to watch her dash off with a small smirk plastered to his face, written deeper underneath that smirk was a hint of confusion, he had never been spoken to like that, usually every witch or wizard that came face to face with him was petrified to cross him, let alone speak to him like he was dirt on their shoe, he found it to be a brave mistake.

He shrugged it off and continued to begrudgingly follow his classmates to their next class.

Ever the impatient friend, Jackson Owen, turned back to look at the arrogant blonde. “Draco, what are you waiting for?” He asked, shaking his head. “As rich as you are, the Divination class won’t come to you!” Jackson smirked to himself, clearly quite proud of himself for what he had just said.

“I’m not waiting for anything, Jax. Your little sister near just took me out!” He snapped back, walking towards Jackson. “She was making her way to the infirmary when she bumped into me.” He explained, his tone was one of dissaprooval and annoyance.

“The infirmary?” Jackson asked, his face contorting to one of worry and concern.

“Did I stutter?” Draco, snapped back once again, walking ahead of him and upwards towards the Divination wing. “She is your sister, how am I supposed to know anything about it?” He added, his footsteps getting quieter in Jackson’s ears.

Jackson stood in place, debating whether to follow Draco or his twin sister. His mind began reeling with the options, the consequences. “Fuck it.” He muttered, his naturally chivalrous nature refusing to allow his sister to be alone in the infirmary, spun his body around and convinced him to follow Alexis instead, his loyalty lying with his family.

Draco spun on his heel, expecting Jackson to still be following him, like a golden retriever. His face fell from it’s usual smirk when he realised that his lapdog was no longer right behind him. He huffed in annoyance and began walking alone to the Divination wing.

He arrived at the classroom door a few minutes after everyone else, he pushed it open and strolled casually in alone.

“Draco, you’re late.” Professor Trelawney spoke in a rather dramatic whisper. “Where have you been?” She questioned, her hands feeling a chipped glass mug, her eye’s shut tight. “Ah, do not tell me, child. I know.” She answered her own question. “Sit.” She ordered, her voice containing hundreds of different emotions all at once.

Draco rolled his eyes and muttered a quiet ‘nutcase’ under his breath. He walked over to one of his companions, Sebastian Tootle.

Sebastian was the type of person to purposefully be completely oblivious to the surrounding world. He knew exqaactly what was happening with every person in school at all times but his decisions to stay oblivious to it simply made the chaos sweeter. He enjoyed a cup of coffee in the morning, purely black, whilst he watched the chaos of the morning unfold before him. However, he was interested about where Draco had been, abd where Jackson was. “Jax?” He asked. “Where is he?”

“With his sister, I would assume.” Draco shrugged. “I don’t really care where he is.”

“You do, really.” Sebastian teased, poking fun at the ‘emotionless’ slytherin, who actually deep down held close concern for his nearest and dearest.

“You can keep believing that, Tootle, but if Jackson wants to play hero to his sister than he can.”

As if right on queue, Jackson and Alexis quiely opened the door to the classroom, quietly walking inside. Alexis headed straight to her desk, at the very back of the classroom, whereas Jackson walked up to Professor Trelawney and handed her a thin slip of dried parchment paper. She gave him a small nod and ushered him away.

Jackson walked over to his desk, comedically placed in between Sebastian and Draco, and took his seat.

“How’s your sister?” Sebastian asked, his eyes filled with genuine concernn for once.

“She’s fine.” Jackson shrugged. “Just a little low on blood sugar.”

“Don’t we have a spell to fix whatever is wrong with her?” Sebastian asked. “Surely Nerd brain Granger can concoct something?”

“If we did, do you think she’d still be suffering instead of using it?” Jackson responded, his eyes rolling that far back in his head you’d have expected them to drop out of his backside.

“Sorry, sheesh.” Sebastian responded, shaking his heas at Jackson’s current mood. “Somebody isn’t a happy bunny.” He teased, a large grin forming on his face.

“Do shut up, Sebastian.” Draco chimned in, clearly sick of hearing the two bicker.

“He started it!” Sebastian pouted, his face a mixture of pride and annoyance.

“And I’m ending it.” Draco snapped, his voice a hushed whisper. “Shut up, before I send you both to the dungeons.”

“Ooh, I’m so scared.” Sebastian grinned. “Please Draco, don’t tell your father about this.” He begged mockingly.

Draco, slowly reaching the end of his tether warned Sebastian to pipe down. “I suggest you wind your neck in, before I do it for you, Tootle.” He threatened.

Jackson, realising the tension was no longer just friendly rivalry, backed off slightly from the conversation, he turned around to face his little sister. “Lex, are you okay?” He asked, his eyes filled with worry for his twin.

Alexis, who was now happily munching on a pack of every-flavour-beans to build her blood sugar back up, nodded. “I’m fine!” She responded, a smile now resting on her lips, a far cry from the anger she was suffering from earlier.

“I’m glad.” Jackson nodded, smiling.

“I must admit.” Draco whispered to Jackson. “Your sister has some guts.”

“How do you mean?” Jackson asked, looking at him with a puzled look on his face.

“I’ve never once seen somebody snap at me and tell me to ‘watch where I was going’ before.” Draco shrugged, his smirk unfaltering.

“She needed to go to the infirmary, you shouldn’t have been in her way.” Jackson argued back, his face twisting in anger. “Do you always have to be such an arrogant asshole?”

“No.” Draco answered bluntly. “I enjoy it.”

“Of course you do, what else is new?” Jackson asked, his eyes once again rolling back.

“Sarcasm, really? Really witty.” Draco shrugged. “I’m glad your sister is okay, though, she brings entertaining energy to the common room.”

“I particularly enjoy when she shouts at the first years for being too messy.” Sebastian butts in, a mockcing tone.

“Shut up, Tootle.” Draco muttered again. “You really aren’t funny.”

“I am hilarious.” Sebastian argued, his eyes bright with mischief and chaos.

“Keep telling yourself that.” Draco responded. “Actually, please just stop speaking, I have a headache from your bickering.”

“Maybe you need to go to the infirmary.” Jackson hit back with a smirk.

“Shut up, Owens. I will have you wishing you weren’t born.” Draco hissed back.

“Who will give you the test answers if you do that?” Jackson retorted.

“I have my ways.” Draco shrugged. “Would you like to find out?””

“Sure.” Jackson responded, his eyes filled with petty doubt. “Why not.”

“You’ve just signed your death wish, Owens.” Draco looked at him with contempt etched across his face. “I’ll make sure of that.”
