Prologue: Letter
The Letter:
Hello my love,
If you got this, it means that my spirit has joined my ancestors. I’m deeply sorry for not making you permanently mine. The spirits must’ve had different plans for you, and my time was up before I could be there for you, to help guide you in that time of your life.
I’m also sorry that I am not able to be there to take care of you. That’s why I’m writing this for you now. To let you know, I have taken care of you for the next forty years. For you, and for my family, which I hope you will stay close to them.
Regarding how I’m going to do it, at the bottom of this letter I have sealed a key. The key is to the home that I have built, yes with my bare hands, yes, I know how shocked you must be right now. If you decide to stay in it, it’s on the land that I took you to on our first date, Remember that? I sure do. You avoided me for years before you finally said yes. One of the things I love you for, is your bluntness. The next thing that popped from your lips when you agreed, was, “If it’ll get you to stop asking me, I’ll go with you.”
Do you regret it? I do not. That night that I took you to my family land, your blue eyes glowed as you took in the woods that were behind the place. You told me that you wished you could have a slice of calm in those woods. Well, now you do. My brother has agreed to help you extend it when you need it, in case you choose to move on and start a family. In fact, I want you to. I want to see the world full of mini you, your smile, and your eyes.
I can feel my time ticking down as I write this, but I honestly don’t care. I need you to understand that I will watch you no matter what I come back as, if I even come back. I will find you my little Dove, that’s a promise. I will find a way to protect you from away.
Well, there you are calling my name. I love you my little Dove, and I cannot wait till we meet again. Live safe, be happy. Do not, I repeat do not, do something to bring you to me way before the end of your time.
Your Wolf.
P.S. I hope you never have to get this letter and I could give this to you in person. Another gift in this envelope is my necklace. My wolf fangs. Attached to that chain, should be the ring that was my mother’s. I will never say this enough, I love you my Dove, live happily.
