What is your opinion?

Warm & Terrifying

"It feels like an odd combination, to say that the story is both warm and terrifying--but actually, I think that that's a sign that the author really knows what they're doing, because horror always lands so much harder when you actually feel for the characters before the tide turns. The formatting is, admittedly, a bit different than what I'm used to, but I think it adds uniqueness to the main character's voice and to the worldbuilding as a whole. The chapters are a little bit on the longer side, but everything flows and it never feels like the story is dragging. Overall, great work! #ICBC"

Scary and somehow still fun

"I’m having so much fun with this. It’s an epic fantasy with a ton of lore, and the horror elements are surprisingly well done. But the protagonist is definitely one of my favorite things about it. Despite everything he's been through, he's still funny, warm, and incredibly easy to root for. I love that his personality hasn’t been completely swallowed up by their traumatic past. And the way the story jumps from Mercedes and Nike shoes straight into an ancient magical world should absolutely not work as well as it does, but somehow it’s completely seamless. 😂 It feels fresh, weird, dark, and fun all at once, and I’m very much here for it."

Immersive Imagery and Action-packed adventure

"Black Ghost drew me in immediately with the writer's immersive imagery. It makes you feel as if you are right there with Kwaski through his nightmares, personal struggles, and an action-packed adventure. The nightmares and psychological challenges Kwaski faces create a deeply emotional character who compels the reader to witness his triumph over the dark echoes of his past. His desire to protect others from himself is both commendable and sorrowful, making him an endearing hero that readers will want to root for. The supporting cast is well-developed, featuring Kwaski's caring and protective friends and the captivating and alluring Alicia. Kwaski's traumatic flashbacks and an undercurrent of supernatural elements blend well with themes of grief, horror, and friendship, making for a unique and compelling read. #ICBC"

Black Ghost

"A very intriguing read so far! I love how you express Kwaski's emotions and how you don't shy away from the horror aspects overall in the story. Your scenes are painted very vividly and the overall atmosphere is deliciously dark. I especially like how Rogh was introduced and his sections of the story are interesting. I'm intrigued to learn more about him as well as our main character with his super strength. Interested to see where this goes and how everything connects. I will update this review when I finish reading ;) #icbc"

Mystery and black ghosts

"I’m really enjoying this book! I love how it combines fantasy, mystery, humor, and emotional moments so naturally. The characters have great chemistry, and the banter keeps the story fun and engaging. Kwaski’s inner monologue is especially entertaining because it gives us a better look at his personality and the way he sees everything around him. The second part of the story is much darker and more mysterious. The author describes those dark moments so vividly that they give you chills. Kwaski’s past comes back to haunt him during the quietest moments, instantly turning a lighthearted scene into something much more intense. And now we’re about to enter the realm of ghosts. 👀 I’m sure there are going to be plenty of secrets, mysteries, and battles waiting for us there!"

Can I just hug Kwaski?

"I usually don't like to leave reviews for stories until they are marked complete and I've finished reading them to the end, but I've learned that I can leave a partial review and then come back and leave a full review once I'm finished. So here goes... This story is intense. It's mind-blowing. It has you tilting your head to the side and going huh? What did I just read? How does that connect? Is this character the same as the one I read about a couple of chapters back? Nope, it's a different one, but holy hell that poor boy! Can I give him a hug? He needs a hug. His poor mind! His poor body. His poor life! Author what the hell are you doing to him? THAT is what you will get if you read this story. You will not be bored. Now for the technical blah, blah, blahs. Yes, there are typos and grammar issues. The author is not a native English writer. Be happy he's written it for you to enjoy and try your best to overlook the issues. The story is worth it. The chapters are long. Very long. If you're thinking you can quickly get through one and go eat a quick dinner, think again. You will be reading forever because the fight scene is like a marvel action movie - the author likes the details. Not a bad thing if you enjoy descriptive scenes. Some chapters jump between scenes and you have to reset your brain to follow along. Believe me. It's worth the reset. Just shut your eyes and blink. My final words? Buckle up my friends. This is one heck of a ride. And I'm only on chapter seven! I can't wait to read the rest and see how it ends. I'm still not quite sure where this story is taking me. All I know is, I want to adopt Kwasi and take him home with me. He needs some extra love, and a lot of mental health support."

Scary Good!!!!

"An extraordinarily dark, tense, and atmospheric start to a story. What makes Black Ghost stand out right away is how masterfully it builds psychological dread—transitioning from a warm, nostalgic family dinner into a surreal, heart-pounding nightmare in the blink of an eye. The tension with Asmodeus is palpable, and Kwaski’s internal struggle with his own dark capabilities creates a deeply compelling protagonist. The emotional weight, high stakes, and raw energy carry the narrative effortlessly, and the story noticeably gains momentum and confidence with every chapter. If you're a fan of dark action-fantasy and psychological thrillers, this one is definitely worth keeping on your radar!"

Intriguing, leaves you wanting more!

"This story will give you nightmares--in the best possible way. It starts off really sweet and gives you a chance to really get to know the characters and be immersed in their world. But something dark and horrible is looming, and you can't help but feel a sense of dread and terror when it swoops in. The author did such a good job describing the nightmare that it reminded me of nightmares I had had as a child, bringing in an extra layer of terror that was gripping and horrific and just fantasically done. I am incredibly impressed (and just the right amount of freaked out!) I can't help but wonder if the author used real nightmares as inspiration for this particular scene. Either way, I am hooked and can't wait to find out what happens. Wonderfully written, delightfully frightening, and instantly gripping. Highly recommend! #ICBC"

Wonderfully Unexpected - A bit of something for everyone

"I am not the type to like fantasy stories but this book is so much more. It comes across more of a mystery/thriller/action and I am always up for a good mystery. I found reading the opening of the book heavy, and I had to pace myself, more in terms of emotions and mental space then anything else. That speaks to how the writing dropped me in that setting and atmosphere which is not easy to do. A very unique character, plot and writing style. As I have read on, I realised that the story is not what I expected. It has a little bit of something for everyone action, horror, family drama, mystery, humour, romance, fantasy even a coming of age vibe. So wonderfully unexpected and fun to read. #icbc"

Thrilling

"What an impressively atmospheric read! Black Ghost does a phenomenal job of balancing high-stakes action with deep psychological introspection. I really loved how the narrative blurs the lines between reality and nightmare, making Kwaski's internal struggle feel raw and deeply authentic. The exploration of trauma, morality, and what it truly means to bear 'monstrous' traits gives the story a gripping thematic weight that lingers long after the final chapter. Definitely one of the more standout reads in the club so far!"

Dude... What???

"*cracks fingers* Ok. Lemme start by addressing all you narrow-minded people out there. Yes, there are typos and other minor grammar or syntax mistakes. You make 'em, I make 'em, we all make 'em it's all a matter of the author finding the time to edit a bit. Let's move on to the things that really matter, instead! Storytelling: From the first to the last (up to date) chapter, there is always something going on! The author effortlessly mixes magic/fantasy elements with horror, slice of life and even romance ones! You literally never know what's coming next! One chapter you're in the back of an expensive car, the very next one, you're in a magical land of the dead! There is also a healthy dose of humor sprinkled in at all the right times! Characters: Starting off with the big gun here! The MC, Kwaski (I know it's an interesting name choice and so does the author!), is incredibly well-written! I know case we view the world mainly through his eyes! He feels like an actual person, albeit a very emotionally damaged one, with insecurities, little doses of confidence and heafty doses of trauma. Dude's been through a lot. The supporting cast is also nicely fledged out with characters varying from love interests to loyal friends and sworn enemies. There are some ambiguous ones too but, I trust we'll learn more about them with every new update! Also, as a sucker for dialogue, I do honestly believe there are a bunch of fun, snark lines and even some profound ones to be found from in there! Plot: I've already talked about this but, the plot might seems like it's all over the place at first but, as a reader slowly connects the dots, they end up with profound, smart answers! Questions constantly arise from the multiple storylines developing at the same time so, a healthy stream of engagement is flowing all the time! Some final notes: The chapters can feel a bit long but, that is my personal preference, anyway! I said this already but, please try to ignore the little typos and the such! It's worth it! Last but not least, the author is as wholesmome as they get so please, support them and show the story some love! I bid you farewell and hope to catch you on the other side, fellow reader! (this will make more sense once you've read at least up until chapter 9!) P.S: There is a chance I come back to add to this review after the story is finished!"

A wonderful dark suspense

"Never thought I would like this sort of book, but here I am, hooked! The author’s writing style is different—in a good way. The dialogues and the main character’s inner thoughts are described in a very realistic way, making this dark story a funny one as well, which I absolutely liked. All the descriptions are genuinely vivid, making the action feel real. The pacing keeps you suspended in a dark atmosphere, without giving too much details, too soon. Suspense. Mystery. Emotions. Vulnerabilities. If you love dark, deep mysteries, this is definitely a must read! ❤️"

Black Ghost

"This story is pretty enjoyable to read. It does really well with conveying the emotions and stakes of the characters and their different motives/situations and also does a good job at blending fight scenes with more calm personal chapters. This story is a bit gory though so just watch out for that lol!"

A little bit of every emotion in this one

"'Black Ghost' at its onset, is the story of a man who is haunted by his past losses. Kwaski, the protagonist, begins as a younger boy in a seemingly happy family - until it falls apart. It seems he is hunted as a child, and now, as an adult - though they are different hunters. The opening chapter is very well paced with some exciting, anxiety-inducing moments. The second chapter slows things down a little to give us some worldbuilding. And then we pick it up again in chapter three. There were a few spots where the action and exposition could have been tightened, but this story has a lot of potential. The author has used formatting to interesting effect in a couple of spots. The small to larger font sizes essentially acting as a Doppler effect on the words - really cool! There are spelling and punctuation errors that can easily be corrected, but the story is not affected by them. One thing of note for this author: they know how to end a chapter. They've all had a great hook at the end that makes you want to keep reading. You will at least once or twice be saying, 'one more chapter!' #icbc"

Mystery, horror and intrigue

"I like how the story keeps me on my toes, there were some really scary bits and author dealt with them quite well. Every chapter leaves you with more questions and expectations. Kwaski is a strong character, you can feel his emotions quite well and you can feel for him too. His journey is very heavy and sad, but also extremely suspensful. The author has a very good plot with tons of intrigue and suspense. The language lags a bit, the style is not always clear and coherent, but I still feel the plot makes up for the most of it. A good editing might improve the book drastically 🥰🥰🥰 #ICBC"

An excellent mystery in the making!

"The vivid descriptions stand out and sucked me in as a reader! The lines between reality, memories and dreams/ nightmares sure blurs with delightful confusion which kept me hooks. Also the contrast of Kwaski tragic past and current situation creates an amazing shift, reflecting two opposites, that made me question what is real and what is imagined, or is there something more to it all! #ICBC "

Action packed mystery

"There is a lot going on in this story so far, and I've only read three chapters. It starts as a nightmare scene and leaves more questions than answers that make you want to read on to uncover what happens next. It is fast paced action and intriguing characters and an interesting location setting. There are a few grammar and punctuation issues in part which is easily tidied up by a quick edit and doesn't take away from the plot or the motives of the characters. It is a balanced dark thriller and worth checking out. #icbc"
