Silk Between Two Crowns is a detailed written book. This story takes its time — with its characters, with its world, with the relationships that develop inside it. It is long and it is detailed and it moves at a pace that is deliberate rather than rushed. Every scene, every exchange, every quiet moment between characters exists because I believed it needed to exist. The details made sense to me. I hope they make sense to you too.
This is also my first time writing in third person. I learned as I went. I grew as I wrote. The story that exists on these pages is the best version of itself that I knew how to make, and I am proud of it, even knowing it is not perfect.
If slow detailed stories are your thing — if you love watching a woman build something extraordinary from nothing, if you love tension that earns its release and characters that feel like real people — I think you will find something here that stays with you.
If this pace turns out not to be for you, that is completely okay. Not every book is for every reader and there is no shame in that. Put it down without guilt and find the story that is right for you.
