You're Hearing Voices!

Congratulations!

If you’re reading this, it means you are still alive. Whether you’re whole or not, that’s an entirely different matter. Husks are everywhere.

But, hey, still existing is nothing to sneeze at. I’d say you should ask all the ones that disappeared, but, you know, they disappeared. So, yeah.

Anyway, I guess I’ll start this by saying goodbye. Chances are that if you come looking for me, I won’t be here anymore—or I will be, but ... You know what? Why don’t we rewind to the day the world started to end? My friend Jake (I miss him) called it The Squall.

For some, that storm meant nothing more than a minor inconvenience. For others, it meant losing their homes or their businesses. For me, it meant losing everything.

I died that day, but didn’t realize it until a few weeks later.

Please don’t be scared. It’s not like I’m a zombie or anything like that. My name is Phoenix Novak, and I’m a voice inside your head.
